The 1915 Richmond Spiders football team was an American football team that represented Richmond College—now known as the University of Richmond—as a member of the Eastern Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Association (EVIAA) and the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Athletic Association (SAIAA) during the 1915 college football season. Led by third-year head coach Frank Dobson, Richmond finished the season 4–4–1 overall, 3–2–1 in EVIAA play, and 0–1 against SAIAA opponents. The Eastern Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Association (originally known as the Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Association) was founded in January 1900 by nine colleges in the state of Virginia. Originally, the association was divided into two divisions, the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference, however after most of the Western Division left the association the organization was referred to with increasing frequency as the Eastern Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The Richmond–VMI football rivalry is a college football rivalry played between the VMI Keydets and the Richmond Spiders, representing the Virginia Military Institute and University of Richmond, respectively. The series began in 1893, two years after VMI fielded its first football team in 1891, and three years after Richmond's first football team was formed in 1890. Aside from one year in 1992 in which the game was played in Norfolk, Virginia, the series has always been played at either VMI or Richmond.
