In the 1914 season of the Campeonato Paulista, two championships were disputed, each by a different league. APSA Championship In the APSA-organized Campeonato Paulista, the championship had doubled in size, with Ypiranga defecting from LPF, and the additions of Scottish Wanderers, formed by former São Paulo Athletic players, and São Bento. the latter was formed by former students of the Ginásio São Bento, and fielding some of the best players of the time, won the title in its debut. the top scorer was Ypiranga's Arthur Friedenreich with 12 goals. Sport Club Corinthians Paulista () is a Brazilian sports club based in the Tatuapé district of São Paulo. Sport Club Internacional, commonly known as Internacional, was a Brazilian football team from São Paulo, São Paulo state. They competed several times in the Campeonato Paulista and won the competition twice. History Sport Club Internacional was founded on August 19, 1899. They won the Campeonato Paulista for the first time in 1907, and in 1928, when the league was organized by LAF. The club played 370 Campeonato Paulista games between 1902 and 1932. Internacional, due to financial difficulties, merged with Antarctica Futebol Clube in 1933, and the new club was named Clube Atlético Paulista. Neco
Manoel Nunes (March 7, 1895 – May 31, 1977), also known as Neco, was an association football midfielder. With great skill and tenacity, he was the first idol of Corinthians, being the first player to get a statue in the team's gardens (in 1929). As of 2006, Neco is the player who played the longest for Corinthians: 17 years. Called often to the Brazilian national team, he won two South American Championships: 1919 (team's top scorer) and 1922 (top scorer). Playing for Corinthians, he won the Paulista League eight times as a player (being top scorer in 1914 and 1920) and once as a coach (1937). Neco had a quick temper and frequently got involved in fights; his second stint as a manager occurred because he was suspended as a player for 18 games when he beat a referee. São Paulo Athletic Club - officially these days Clube Atlético São Paulo, but generally referred to as SPAC, is a Brazilian sports club founded on 13 May 1888 by Charles William Miller and several English immigrants, being one of the first association football clubs in the country. Although football is not practised anymore, SPAC currently hosts the practice of futsal, rugby union, squash, swimming, tennis and volleyball. The following article presents a summary of the 1914 football (soccer) season in Brazil, which was the 13th season of competitive football in the country. Campeonato Paulista In 1914 there were two different editions of the Campeonato Paulista. One was organized by the Associação Paulista de Esportes Atléticos (APEA) while the other one was organized by the Liga Paulista de Foot-Ball (LPF). APEA's Campeonato Paulista Final Standings São Bento declared as the APEA's Campeonato Paulista champions. LPF's Campeonato Paulista Final Standings Germânia and Hydecroft matches were canceled, as both clubs abandoned the competition. Corinthians declared as the LPF's Campeonato Paulista champions.
