The 1912 Utah Agricultural Aggies football team was an American football team that represented Utah Agricultural College (later renamed Utah State University) as an independent during the 1912 college football season. In their fourth season under head coach Clayton Teetzel, the Aggies compiled a 4–2–1 record and outscored opponents by a total of 154 to 40. The team's 53–0 victory over Wyoming remains the largest margin of victory in the history of the Utah State–Wyoming football rivalry. Clayton Tryon Teetzel (August 27, 1876 – July 29, 1948) was an American sportsman and athletic coach. He played American football and competed in track for the University of Michigan from 1897 to 1899 and later coached football, basketball and track at Michigan State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University), Benton Harbor High School, Brigham Young University, and Utah State University. Early years Teetzel was born in Michigan in 1876. His father, William H. Teetzel, was a native of Canada who worked as a traveling salesman. His mother, Carrie Teetzel, was a native of Michigan. At the time of the 1880 United States Census, Teetzel was living with his parents and older brother, William H. Teetzel, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The family later moved to Chicago where the father worked as a salesman. Teetzel became a track star at Englewood High School in 1894. The Battle of the Brothers is the name given to the Utah–Utah State football rivalry. It is an American college football rivalry between the Utah Utes of the University of Utah and Utah State Aggies from Utah State University. Utah leads the series 79–29–4. The rivalry began November 25, 1892, when Utah State (then known as Utah Agricultural College) defeated Utah 12-0 in the first game for both programs. Robert Rice Stadium was an outdoor athletic stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah, located on the campus of the University of Utah. Originally opened in 1927 as Ute Stadium, it was the home of the Utah Utes football team. Renamed for Robert L. Rice in 1972, it was almost completely demolished after the 1997 season to make way for the Utes' current home, Rice-Eccles Stadium, which occupies the same physical footprint. History After a record crowd came to the Utes' previous home, Cummings Field, to see Utah play Utah State on Thanksgiving Day 1926, a drive began for a larger and more modern stadium.
