Einar Hovdhaugen
Einar Hovdhaugen (26 February 1908 – 1 July 1996) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. He was born in Ringebu. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Oppland in 1958, and was re-elected on two occasions. He had previously served as a deputy representative in the periods 1945–1949 and 1954–1957. Hovdhaugen was a member of Ringebu municipality council in the periods 1945–1947 and 1951–1955. He was the father of the linguist Even Hovdhaugen Even Hovdhaugen (June 21, 1941 – October 16, 2018) was a Norwegian linguist. Lars Mathias Hille Esmark
Lars Mathias Hille Esmark (9 May 190818 July 1998) was a Norwegian civil servant and business person in the tourist industry. He was born in Voss, and graduated as cand.jur. in 1932. From 1935 he was appointed hotel inspector for the government. In this position he was responsible for deciding which overnight accommodations that qualified as hotels. After World War II he was appointed the government's tourist manager. From 1964 he was manager of the travel agency Bennett Reisebureau. He was a board member of the Norwegian Trekking Association, and eventually also chairman of the organization. He was decorated Knight, First Class of the Order of St. Olav in 1961. Jonas Enge (24 April 1908 – 11 March 1981) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Vik. He was elected to the Parliament of Norway from Nordland in 1950, and was re-elected on four occasions. Hamran was deputy mayor of Sømna Sømna is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. Odd Bang-Hansen
Odd Bang-Hansen (9 April 1908 – 4 March 1984) was a Norwegian educator, journalist and author. Biography He was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. His parents were Lauritz Bang-Hansen (1879–1960) and Astri Halvorsen (1880–1971). His father was a Lutheran priest who was later assigned to parishes in Vadsø and Kristiansund. He received a cand.philol. degree in 1934 from the University of Oslo. He became an associate professor at the Oslo Commerce School (''Oslo Handelsgymnasium'') in the late 1930s. During the Occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, he sent his wife and children to live in Stockholm. He was actively involved in the Norwegian resistance movement, making a significant effort to help Norwegian Jews out of the country. In 1943, he was forced to re-locate to Great Britain where he was a consultant working with British officers in support of the Norwegian resistance. Hans Engnestangen (28 March 1908 – 9 May 2003) was a Norwegian speed skater and world champion. He held the world records over 500 and 1500 meters for more than 13 years. International championships At the 1932 Winter Olympics he participated in the 10000 metres event but was eliminated in the heats. Four years later he finished eights in the 1500 metres competition.
