İstanbul Football League
The Istanbul Football League () was founded as a regional association football, football league under the name Constantinople Football Association League by James La Fontaine and Henry Pears in Istanbul, the capital of the former Ottoman Empire, in 1904. The Istanbul League was the first football organization ever in the Ottoman Empire and later Turkey. In the inaugural 1904–05 season the matches between the four teams, Moda F.C., Moda FC, HMS Imogene F.C., HMS Imogene, Elpis F.C., Elpis FC, and Cadi-Keuy F.C., Cadi-Keuy FC were played on Sundays, leading to the name of the league, Istanbul Sunday League. Henry Pears, an Englishman and one of the three founders, promised to ultimately award the shield to the club with the most championships won during the initial 10 years. Cadi-Keuy FC
Cadi-Keuy FC is a defunct sports club of Istanbul, Ottoman Empire. History Cadi-Keuy FC was a club which was founded by Englishmen James Lafontaine and Horace Armitage in 1902. Its name is a foreign rendering of Kadıköy, its home ground, as the standard Turkish Latin alphabet did not yet exist at the time of the club's creation. On Sunday 31 January 1909 Kadiköy reached the final of the ''Union Club Cup'', the first football cup to be played in Ottoman Empire, at the Union Club field at Kadiköy. They lost 4-0 to Galatasaray AFC. Elpis FC (Greek:Ελπίς, meaning ''Hope''), is a defunct sports club of Istanbul, Ottoman Empire. The colours of the club were blue and white as in the Greek flag. History Elpis FC was founded in 1904 in Kadıköy district of Istanbul by the local Greeks and the team was completely made up by Greek footballers. The football club was dissolved in 1912. Emin Bülent Serdaroğlu (1886 – 28 November 1942) was a Turkish footballer, poet, and one of the founders of Galatasaray. He spent the entirety of his career with his hometown club. His grandfather was Serdar-ı Ekrem Ömer Pasha and his father was Ömer Muzaffer Bey. He lost his mother during childhood.
