The 1903 FA Cup Final was an association football match between Bury F.C., Bury and Derby County F.C., Derby County on Saturday, 18 April 1903 at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, Crystal Palace stadium in south London. It was the final match of the 1902–03 FA Cup, the 32nd edition of the world's oldest football knockout competition, and England's primary Single-elimination tournament, cup competition, the Football Association Challenge Cup, better known as the FA Cup. 1902–03 FA Cup
The 1902–03 FA Cup was the 32nd season of the world's oldest association football competition, the Football Association Challenge Cup (more usually known as the FA Cup). Bury F.C., Bury won the competition for the second and (as of 2022) final time, beating Derby County F.C., Derby County 6–0 in the 1903 FA Cup Final, final at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, Crystal Palace. This scoreline stood as a record victory in an List of FA Cup winners, FA Cup final until Manchester City equalled it by beating Watford 6–0 on 18 May 2019. 1871–72 FA Cup
The 1871–72 Football Association Challenge Cup was the first staging of the Football Association Challenge Cup, usually known in the modern era as the FA Cup, the oldest association football competition in the world. Fifteen of the association's fifty member clubs entered the first competition, although three withdrew without playing a game. Preston North End Football Club, commonly referred to as Preston, North End or PNE, is a professional football club in Preston, Lancashire, England, who currently play in the EFL Championship, the second tier of the English football league system. Originally a cricket club, Preston has been based at Deepdale since 1875. The club first took up football in 1878 as a winter fitness activity and decided to focus on it in May 1880, when the football club was officially founded. The 1890 FA Cup Final was contested by Blackburn Rovers and The Wednesday at the Kennington Oval. Blackburn won 6–1 with goals scored by William Townley (3), Nat Walton, Jack Southworth and Joe Lofthouse. The Wednesday's goal was scored by Albert Mumford. Townley's hat-trick was the first in an FA Cup Final. Haydn Arthur Morley, who was Wednesday's captain in the final, earned his living as a solicitor.
