1900 Centre Football Team
The 1900 Centre football team represented Centre College as an independent the 1900 college football season. Led by Ralph C. Hamill in his first and only season as head coach, Centre compiled a record of 4–1–1. The team outscored its opponents 54 to 17. The first game of the season, against Cincinnati, was cancelled after 15 minutes of play due to lightning. Miami Field
Miami Field was a multi-purpose stadium at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. History It opened in 1896 as Athletic Park. It was home to the RedHawks college football team prior to the Yager Stadium opening in 1983. The stadium had a capacity of 7,240 by 1928. When it closed in 1982 capacity was 14,800. At that time, it was the second oldest college football stadium after Franklin Field. Almost immediately upon Miami Field being razed, new campus buildings were constructed on the site, the largest of which being Pearson Hall. In the final configuration, the stands were all metal, and were built above ground level. The playing field was oriented north-south. North Patterson Avenue ran parallel to and behind the visitor side stands, which were located on the eastern side of the stadium. Centre College is a private liberal arts college in Danville, Kentucky. It is an undergraduate college with an enrollment of approximately 1,400 students. Centre–Kentucky Rivalry
The Centre–Kentucky rivalry was an intercollegiate sports rivalry between Centre College in Danville, Kentucky and the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. The two school first met in football in 1891 and basketball in 1906. The two rivals last played in 1929 in both sports. Football Football series Game in 1918 cancelled due to flu epidemic. Kentucky is known as Kentucky State College before 1913. Centre merges with Central in 1901. Basketball Starting in 1906, Kentucky won the first three games but only before Centre College did the same, tying the series at 3.
