The 18th Robert Awards ceremony was held on 4 February 2001 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Organized by the Danish Film Academy, the awards honoured the best in Danish and foreign film of 2000. Danish Film Academy
The Danish Film Academy was founded in 1982 by a number of people with professional connection to the film industry. The Academy aims to promote the film as an independent art form, and its members are primarily people who work with film. Dancer In The Dark
''Dancer in the Dark'' is a 2000 musical drama film written and directed by Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier. It stars Icelandic musician Björk as a factory worker who suffers from a degenerative eye condition and is saving for an operation to prevent her young son from suffering the same fate. Catherine Deneuve, David Morse, Cara Seymour, Peter Stormare, Siobhan Fallon Hogan and Joel Grey also star. The soundtrack for the film, ''Selmasongs'', was written mainly by Björk, but a number of songs featured contributions from Mark Bell and some of the lyrics were written by von Trier and Sjón. ''Flickering Lights'' (Danish: ''Blinkende Lygter'') is a 2000 Danish black comedy crime film directed and written by Anders Thomas Jensen, and starring Søren Pilmark, Mads Mikkelsen, Ulrich Thomsen, Iben Hjejle, and Nikolaj Lie Kaas. Plot Four small-time gangsters from Copenhagen trick a gangster boss: they steal over 4,000,000 Danish kroner which they were supposed to bring him. Trying to escape to Barcelona they are forced to stop in the countryside, in an old, wrecked house, hiding there for several weeks. Ann Eleonora Jørgensen
Ann Eleonora Jørgensen (born 16 October 1965) is a Danish film, television, and stage actress. She is best known for her television work in ''Taxa'' (1997–1999) and '' The Killing'' (2007), and for her film roles in ''Italian for Beginners'' (2000), for which she won a Robert Award as Best Supporting Actress, and '' In Your Hands'' (2004), which netted her an audience award at the Bordeaux International Festival of Women in Cinema.
