The 1899 Missouri Tigers football team was an American football team that represented the University of Missouri as an independent during the 1899 college football season. The team compiled a 9–2 record and outscored its opponents by a combined total of 242 to 56. Dave Fultz was the head coach for the second of two seasons. Dave Fultz
David Lewis Fultz (May 29, 1875 – October 29, 1959) was an American football and baseball player and coach. He played Major League Baseball as a center fielder in the National League with the Philadelphia Phillies (1898–1899) and Baltimore Orioles (1899), and for the Philadelphia Athletics (1901–1902) and New York Highlanders (1903–1905) of the American League. He batted and threw right-handed. In a seven-season career, Fultz posted a .271 batting average with 223 RBI and three home runs in 644 games played. Fultz played college football and college baseball at Brown University, from which he graduated in 1898. He served as the head football coach at the University of Missouri (1898–1899), Lafayette College (1902), Brown (1903), and New York University (1904), compiling a career college football coaching record of 26–19–2. Christian Brothers College High School (CBC High School) is a Lasallian Catholic college preparatory school for young men in Town and Country, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Louis and is owned and operated by the De La Salle Christian Brothers Midwest District. Border War (Kansas–Missouri Rivalry)
The Border War is the name given to the Kansas–Missouri rivalry. It has been officially named the Border Showdown since 2004, and promoted as the Hy-Vee Hoops Border Showdown for basketball games since 2021. It is a college rivalry between athletic teams from the University of Kansas and University of Missouri, the Kansas Jayhawks and the Missouri Tigers, respectively. Athletic competition between the two schools began in 1891. From 1907 to 2012 both schools were in the same athletic conference and competed annually in all sports. Exposition Park (Kansas City)
Exposition Park is a former baseball ground located in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. The ground was home to the Kansas City Cowboys of the American Association for the 1888 and 1889 seasons. It was located at 15th & Montgall from 1888 to 1902 in the 18th and Vine-Downtown East, Kansas City neighborhood. 1899 Kansas Jayhawks Football Team
The 1899 Kansas Jayhawks football team represented the University of Kansas in the 1899 college football season. In their first and only season under head coach Fielding H. Yost, the Jayhawks compiled an undefeated 10–0 record, shut out six of their ten opponents, scored 280 points (28.0 points per games) and allowed only 37 points (3.7 points per game). The season included victories over (12–0 and 18–0), Drake (29–5), Nebraska (36–20), and Missouri (34–6). Bennie Owen, who later coached at Oklahoma for 22 years, was the team's quarterback, and Hubert Avery was the team captain. Sportsman's Park
Sportsman's Park was the name of several former Major League Baseball ballpark structures in St. Louis, Missouri. All but one of these were located on the same piece of land, at the northwest corner of Grand Boulevard and Dodier Street, on the north side of the city.
