Swedish Football Champions
Swedish football champions ( sv, Svenska mästare i fotboll) is a title held by the winners of the highest Swedish football league played each year, Allsvenskan. Malmö FF are the holders of the record of most titles with 22 Swedish championships. After winning the 2021 Allsvenskan, Malmö FF are also the reigning Swedish football champions. The title has been contested since 1896 in varying forms of competition. The first Swedish Champions, Örgryte IS, were declared in 1896 when the club won the cup tournament Svenska Mästerskapet. This happened before there existed any Swedish national association, which was not created until 1904. The winners of Svenska Mästerskapet between 1896 and 1904 have retroactively been declared holders of the title by the Swedish Football Association (SvFF). After the creation of the SvFF, the title continued to be held by the winners of Svenska Mästerskapet until 1925, even though a Swedish first national league, Svenska Serien, started in 1910. S ... Svenska Mästerskapet
Svenska Mästerskapet was a Swedish football competition held as a cup to decide the Swedish Champions between 1896 and 1925. It was held during a short period, and all games were often played in either Gothenburg or Stockholm. For many years only teams from Gothenburg and Stockholm participated. The Swedish Championship knockout competition was last played in 1925. The 1924–1925 season saw the start of the nationwide league Allsvenskan, and from the 1930–1931 season the Allsvenskan winners have been crowned Swedish Champions, except for the years 1982–1990 when Allsvenskan was followed by the Swedish Championship Playoffs and 1991 and 1992 when Allsvenskan was followed by Mästerskapsserien, both to determine the Swedish Champions. Örgryte IS
Örgryte Idrottssällskap, commonly referred to as Örgryte IS, Örgryte () or (especially locally) ÖIS or Öis, is a Swedish sports club based in Gothenburg. It consists of four departments, namely bowling, football, athletics and wrestling. However, the club is best known for its football department. It is the oldest football club in Sweden. The club was founded in 1887 which makes it the oldest active sports club in the country. AIK Fotboll (), more commonly known simply as AIK (), an abbreviation for Allmänna Idrottsklubben (meaning ''the public'' or ''general sports club''), is a Swedish football club competing in Allsvenskan, the top flight of Swedish football. Gärdet
Gärdet is a part of Stockholm, east and northeast of Östermalm. Its official name is Ladugårdsgärdet. It is renowned for its large number of modernist apartments. Gärdet is one of the largest residential districts built in Stockholm during the 1930s, built from 1929 until around 1950, and houses about 10,000 people. The district includes a vast open space used for recreational purposes; the name Gärdet ("the field") often refers to this area specifically.
