Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. Formed in 1892, the club competed in the West Australian Junior Football Association for three seasons from 1892 to 1894, and was admitted to the senior West Australian Football League, West Australian Football Association in 1895.
