Gösta Lundqvist (sailor)
Gösta Lundqvist (March 24, 1894 – June 30, 1967) was a Swedish geologist. Lundqvist's research was mainly focused on the Quaternary soils, but he was also a pioneer in limnology. Biography Adolf Gösta Lundqvist was born in Hedvig Eleonora parish in Stockholm, Sweden. Lundqvist received his geological training under Quaternary geologist, Gerard De Geer and state geologist Lennart von Post (1884–1951). Lundqvist studied at Stockholm University, where he received a bachelor of philosophy in 1917, licentiate in philosophy in 1919 and doctor of philosophy in 1925. He was active in the Swedish Geological Survey as the first state geologist 1920–1961 and was named professor in 1957. He was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1951. Matilda Kristina Von Schwerin
Matilda Kristina von Schwerin née Hagberg (1818 – 1892) was a Swedish countess and landowner. She was a central figure in two great scandals in 19th-century Sweden; when her future husband's brother sued him for his intending marriage to her on accusations of incest (1841–44) and when her late husband's brother refused to acknowledge her legal right to her inheritance and dower land after her late spouse (1849–56), known in history as the 'Schwerin Estate's Scandals'. Life Early life She was the daughter of an employee of the Royal Lottery, Lorentz August Hagberg, and Christina Carolina Schelin of Stockholm. Her mother was the mistress of the rich landowner count Curt Philip von Schwerin (1795-1849), and when Matilda Kristina's father died, she and her siblings moved from Stockholm to the estate of von Schwerin in Östergötland. Anne Charlotte Leffler
Anne Charlotte Edgren-Leffler, duchess of Cajanello (1 October 184921 October 1892), was a Swedish author. Biography She was the daughter of the school principal John Olof Leffler and Gustava Wilhelmina Mittag. Her brother was noted mathematician Gösta Mittag-Leffler. Leffler was initially educated privately and then a student at the ''Wallinska skolan'' from the age of thirteen, at that time perhaps the most progressive school open to females in Stockholm. Her first volume of stories appeared in 1869, but the first to which she attached her name was ("From Life," 1882), a series of realistic sketches of the upper circles of Swedish society, followed, by three other collections with the same title. Charlotta Norberg
Maria Charlotta "Charlotte" Norberg also known as ''Charlotte Törner'' (27 December 1824 in Stockholm – 25 February 1892 in Stockholm) was a Swedish Ballerina and ballet teacher. She was a star of the Royal Swedish Ballet in the mid 19th-century. Life Charlotte Norberg was born in Stockholm. In 1833, she was enrolled in the Royal Swedish Ballet at the Royal Swedish Opera as the student of Sophie Daguin at the age of nine. She made her debut as a solo dancer in 1834. In 1842, she made a success in the pantomime ballet ''Max och Emma'' by Sophie Daguin with music by A. F. Schwartz, and in ''La fille mal gardée'' by Jean Dauberval. Carolina Lindström
Carolina Lindström, née ''Lundström'' (1812–1892), was a Swedish milliner. She was known in Stockholm as "Evening Star", because she was often seen working during the night. Life Her mother was a business woman and she herself saved her money until she could afford to become an apprentice to the top hat maker in Stockholm, a French woman. Lindström had her own shop at Västerlånggatan 40 in 1842. She had a large web of contacts; at the death of the king in 1844, she was alerted by the footmen at the royal palace so that she was able to acquire all the black mourning ribbons from the other milliners in the capital before the death had been publicly known. She was very successful and opened a second shop at Hornsgatan. In 1847, she married a man who squandered all her money on gambling, but she quickly recouped it. In 1892, she left her business to one of her assistants and bought a place for herself at the Stockholm retirement home for merchant widows; however, she died a ...
