Kountz Jr., the team compiled a record of 3–2–3. The team fielded the first two professional football players on record, paying Pudge Heffelfinger $500 for a game on November 12 and Sport Donnelly $250 for the following game a week later. Billy Kountz
William J. Kountz Jr. (October 1, 1867 – August 18, 1899) was an American businessman and an early football player and manager for the Allegheny Athletic Association. He gained brief fame as a humorist with his "Billy Baxter" letters. Early life Kountz was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania and graduated from its public and high schools. His father was "Commodore" William J. Kountz, a businessman and steamboat line owner. Kountz Jr. attended the Chester Military Academy (now Widener University) for two years before joining the Nicola lumber firm as a traveling salesman. He later established a brickworks with his brother George at Harmarville, Pennsylvania. Football career Kountz played guard for the Allegheny Athletic Association from 1891 to 1894. ''The Pittsburg Press'' described him as "as big as the side of a house and as strong as a horse and as good natured as the average." Boundary Field, also known as American League Park II and National Park, is a former baseball ground in Washington, D.C. located on the site currently occupied by Howard University Hospital; bounded approximately by Georgia Avenue, 5th Street, W Street and Florida Avenue, NW. Cleveland Athletic Club
The Cleveland Athletic Club (CAC) was a historic organization founded in 1908. Founding members included Mayor Charles A. Otis, Walter Baker, and Elbert Baker; banker William Parmalee Murray was its first president. In 1911 the organization commissioned a 15-story social club building at 1118 Euclid Avenue, a structure with facilities for its boxing tournaments, office space, a 12-room hotel, a dining room, an eight-lane bowling alley, a basketball court, and many other amenities. Olympic and Hollywood swimmer Johnny Weissmueller broke the record for the 15-yard backstroke in the club's penthouse pool in 1922. The architect was J. Beaver Falls is a city in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 9,005 at the 2020 census. Recreation Park was a sporting grounds and stadium located in what is today Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The stadium existed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. During the park's heyday, the location was considered to be within Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, Allegheny City, but in 1907, the entire municipality was annexed by its larger neighbor and eventually became Pittsburgh's North Side (Pittsburgh), North Side.
