The 1891 FA Cup Final was contested by Blackburn Rovers and Notts County at the Kennington Oval. Jimmy Forrest (footballer)
James Henry Forrest (24 June 1864 – 30 December 1925) was an English footballer whose career spanned the transition from amateurism to professionalism in English football in the 1880s and 1890s. He played most of his club career for Blackburn Rovers, whose early embracing of professionalism enabled them to become one of the major teams in English football, and with whom he appeared on the winning side in five FA Cup finals (a joint record). He was the first professional player to appear for England for whom he made eleven appearances, as a half-back. Harry Daft
Harry Butler Daft (5 April 1866 – 12 January 1945) was an English footballer who played for Notts County, with whom he won the FA Cup in 1894, as well as making five appearances as a left winger for the national side. He was also an accomplished first-class cricketer, playing 200 matches for Nottinghamshire between 1885 and 1899. William Locker
William Locker (16 February 1866 – 15 August 1952) was an English association football, footballer and cricketer. He played first-class cricket for Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Derbyshire between 1894 and 1903 and football for Stoke F.C., Stoke, Derby County F.C., Derby County and Notts County F.C., Notts County. He was one of nineteen sportsmen to achieve the Derbyshire Double of playing cricket for Derbyshire and football for Derby County. Locker was born in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, the son of William Locker and his wife Mary. His father was a lace maker and at the age of 15 Locker was a lace threader. Football career Locker played association football for Stoke F.C., Stoke, Derby County F.C., Derby County and Notts County F.C., Notts County. Tom McInnes (footballer Born March 1870)
Thomas McInnes (22 March 1869 – 17 January 1939) was a Scottish professional footballer. McInnes was capped once for Scotland, against Ireland in 1889. Football career McInnes was born in Glasgow. He joined local club Cowlairs, playing as a forward, most often at outside right. His performances for Cowlairs earned him a cap for the Scotland national team, on 9 March 1889 against Ireland in the 1889 British Home Championship. Scotland won the match 7–0, and McInnes scored the last goal, in the 88th minute. McInnes scored 67 goals from 226 appearances playing as an inside forward for Notts County between 1889 and 1893. McInnes played on the losing side for Notts County against Blackburn Rovers in the 1891 FA Cup Final. During 1892, he briefly returned to Scotland to play for Rangers. Alf Shelton
Alfred Shelton (11 September 1865 – 24 July 1923) was an English international footballer, who played as a left half. His brother Charles was also a professional footballer. Born in Nottingham, Shelton played for Notts Rangers, Notts County, Loughborough and Ilkeston Town, and earned six caps for England between 1889 and 1892. Early career Alf Shelton was one of three brothers – Harry and Charlie Shelton the others – who did so much for Nottingham football. Alf was educated at St. Nicholas School, which he left to join Notts Rangers. He signed in 1884. When the club collapsed in 1888 he, along with other members, threw in their lot with "The Magpies", the nickname for Notts County. He signed in August 1888. A wing half with exceptional stamina, he was a difficult player to get past. He also excelled in heading, often getting his head in the way of goal-bound shots. David Calderhead
David Calderhead (19 June 1864 – 9 January 1938) was a Scottish football player and manager. Calderhead played for Queen of the South Wanderers, Notts County and Lincoln City. He won the FA Cup with Notts County in 1894 and was capped once for Scotland, in 1889. He then became a manager, working for Lincoln City (1900–1907) and Chelsea (1907–1933). Playing career Calderhead was a centre half and played for various clubs, including Dumfries team Queen of the South Wanderers (not to be confused with Queen of the South, formed in 1919).
