Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a Nordic country in Northern Europe, the mainland territory of which comprises the western and northernmost portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula. Nils Yngvar Ustvedt
Nils Yngvar Ustvedt (29 April 1868 – 16 October 1938) was a Norwegian medical doctor and politician for the Conservative Party. He worked as chief physician at Ullevål Hospital from 1916 to 1935, and before this he served one term in the Norwegian Parliament. Personal life Ustvedt was born at Bjølsen in the parish of Vestre Aker. In September 1902 in Kristiania he married Hanna Mohn (1879–1928), a daughter of Jakob Mohn. He was the father of Hans Jacob Ustvedt and grandfather of Yngvar Ustvedt. Career He took the examen artium in 1886, the cand.med. degree in 1892 and the dr.med. degree in 1900. As an academic writer he concentrated on bacteriology and epidemiology. After various jobs in the medical care of Kristiania, he was hired as a chief physician of epidemiology at Ullevål Hospital in 1916. Peter Andreas Amundsen Morell
Peter Andreas Amundsen Morell (1 January 1868 – 30 January 1948) was a Norwegian farmer and politician. Peter Morell was born in Aker (now Akershus), Norway. He was the son of Ole Amundsen (1827-85) and Johanna Gustava Kjelin (1844-1918). Morrell took over the Nedre Grefsen farm which had been purchased by his father in 1855. He later took over the nearby farms Storo (1889) and Østre Grefsen (1895) . Morell was the mayor of Aker (1902-1907) and (1911-1916). He was elected to the Storting between 1903 and 1912. He was the Norwegian Minister of Social Affairs in the government formed by Ivar Lykke (1926 to 1928). In 1890, he married Hanna Astrup (1869-1933), daughter of Harald Astrup. Katti Anker Møller (23 October 1868 – 20 August 1945) was a Norwegian feminist, children's rights advocate, and a pioneer of reproductive rights. Biography She was born Cathrine Anker in Hamar, the daughter of Herman Anker. She had nine siblings, and grew up around the first folk high school at Sagatun in Hamar, which was founded by her father. Educated as a teacher, she spent a year in France, where her exposure to the life of prostitutes and single mothers affected her profoundly. Her mother died at the age of 50, apparently exhausted from her many pregnancies, though the number of children she had was normal for her time. She married her cousin Kai Møller from Thorsø Manor (''Thorsø herregård'') in Torsnes in 1889, with whom she had three children. Among them were the physician Tove Mohr, whose daughter Tove Pihl has carried on the pro-choice activism in Norway. Kristian Birch-Reichenwald Aars (25 September 1868 – 4 August 1917) was a Norwegian academic. Originally educated as a theologian, he soon switched to philosophy and psychology. Personal life He was born in Christiania as a son of educator Jacob Jonathan Aars (1837–1908) and his wife Anna Ernesta Birch-Reichenwald (1838–1919). He was the brother of architect Harald Aars, and a grandson of Christian Birch-Reichenwald. He was also a grandnephew of priest and politician Jens Aars and a second cousin of writer Sophus Christian Munk Aars. Between 1895 and 1910 he was married to Marna Aall (1873–1948). During that time he was a brother-in-law of Anathon Aall and Herman Harris Aall. Anathon Aall biographed him in the first volume of the first edition of the biographical dictionary ''Norsk biografisk leksikon''. Egil Eide
Egil Næss Eide (24 August 1868 – 13 December 1946) was a Norwegian silent film actor and director. He appeared in eighteen films between 1913 and 1935, and worked at the National Theatre between 1899 and 1939. Career He was born in Haugesund as a son of ship-owner Ludolf Eide (1821–1908) and Albertine Knagenhjelm Wiese (1834–1903). He was an uncle of zoologist Albert Eide Parr. After finishing his secondary education, Eide lived in the United States until 1894, where he went through his first marriage. Back in Norway, he made his state debut in 1894 at Den Nationale Scene. He was hired at Christiania Theater in 1898, and when it went defunct one year later he moved to the new National Theatre.
