Bernhard Brænne
Bernhard Cornelius Brænne (12 November 1854 - 7 September 1927) was a Norwegian factory owner and member of the Norwegian Parliament with the Conservative Party. Background Brænne was born in Trondheim, Norway. He was the son of Johan Sørensen Brænne (1817–71) and Karen Moe (1821–1901). His father was the owner of a factory owner in Trondheim. The factory that he inherited from his father specialized in textile production He graduated as a chemistry engineer from Trondheim Technical College (now Norwegian Institute of Technology) from 1875. He next studied chemistry and mechanical engineering at the Königlich-Sächsisches Polytechnikum (now Dresden University of Technology). In 1878 he took over the family business and expanded it into spinning, weaving and dry cleaning. Haakon Ditlev Lowzow
Haakon Ditlev Lowzow (5 October 1854 – 12 August 1915) was a Norwegian military officer and politician for the Liberal Party. He is best known as the Norwegian Minister of Defence from 1908 to 1909. Personal life Lowzow was born in Kristiania, and came from a military background. His father was a lieutenant, his grandfather was a major general and his great-grandfather was a lieutenant general. Also, he was a granduncle of Carl Fredrik and Wenche Lowzow. Career He became a military officer in 1872, and was promoted to premier lieutenant in 1887 and lieutenant colonel in 1904. In 1910 Haakon VII serves his sixth year as King of Norway. On 1 February Wollert Konow takes over as Prime Minister after Gunnar Knudsen, who has held this position since 1908. The Parliament passes a resolution about universal suffrage for women in municipal elections on 30 April.
