Elections to Liverpool Town Council were held on Wednesday 1 November 1844. One third of the council seats were up for election, the term of office of each councillor being three years. Seven of the sixteen wards were uncontested. Liverpool City Council is the governing body for the city of Liverpool in Merseyside, England. It consists of 90 councillors, three for each of the city's 30 wards.
