Aurora Ljungstedt
''Aurora'' Lovisa Ljungstedt (, Hjort; pseudonym, Claude Gérard; 2 September 1821 – 21 February 1908), was a Swedish writer. She is regarded to be the first crime novel author of her country and has been referred to as Sweden's Edgar Allan Poe. Life Aurora Lovisa Hjort was born 2 September 1821, in Karlskrona. She was the eldest of four children of major Georg Leonard Hjort (1788–1872) and Fredrika Elisabeth Alf (1792–1877). In 1846, she married Samuel Viktor Ljungstedt (1820–1904), an official in the prison care bureau, and settled in Stockholm. She had three children. Ljungstedt displayed talent early on but her mother disapproved of a literary career as unsuitable as this would make her a public person. After having married, she was free to write with the support of her spouse. She debuted in the 1840s, and wrote anonymously until her pseudonym was unintentionally exposed in the 1870s. Anders Jahan Retzius
Anders Jahan Retzius (3 October 1742 – 6 October 1821) was a Swedish chemist, botanist and entomologist. Biography Born in Kristianstad, he matriculated at Lund University in 1758, where he graduated as a filosofie magister in 1766. He also trained as an apothecary apprentice. He received the position of Docent#Northern Europe, docent of chemistry at Lund in 1766, and of natural history in 1767. He became extraordinary professor of natural history in 1777, and thereafter held various chairs of natural history, economy and chemistry until his retirement in 1812. He died in Stockholm on 6 October 1821. He described many new species of insects and did fundamental work on their Categorization, classification. Retzius was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1782. He was the father of Anders Retzius and grandfather of Gustaf Retzius. Abraham Niclas (Clewberg) Edelcrantz (28 July 1754 – 15 March 1821) was a Finnish born Swedish poet and inventor. He was a member of the Swedish Academy, chair 2, from 1786 to 1821. Fanny Stål
Fanny Stål (4 October 1821, Stockholm – 21 March 1889, Västerås) was a Swedish classical pianist. Fanny Stål was the daughter of the language teacher Axel Samuel Stål, paternal niece of the architect Carl Stål, the musician Conrad Stål and the merchant Pehr Christian Stål. She was a student of Jan van Boom and Wilhelm Bauck in Stockholm and, during the 1840s, of Frédéric Chopin in Paris, along Henriette Nissen-Saloman his likely only Swedish students. Oscar Byström (composer)
Oscar Fredrik Bernadotte Byström (13 October 1821 – 22 July 1909) was a Swedish people, Swedish composer and scholar. Born in Stockholm into the family of a military officer, he followed his father in a military career and rose to the rank of captain by 1857. However, already in the 1840s he gained recognition as both a pianist and song composer, and by late 1850 Byström was active as a teacher. In 1866 he was appointed inspector of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, Swedish Royal Academy of Music, succeeding August Berwald. He became a professor at the Academy in 1872, and also worked for several years as conductor of the orchestral society of Turku. Byström's first published work appeared in 1871: ''Allmän musiklära, till skolornas tjenst'', intended for schools.
