Musée Des Beaux-Arts D'Orléans
The Musée des beaux-arts d'Orléans is a museum in the city of Orléans in the Loiret department and the Centre-Val de Loire region in France. Founded in 1797, it is one of France's oldest provincial museums. Its collections cover European arts from the 15th to 20th century. The museum owns circa 2,000 paintings (with paintings by Correggio, Annibale Carracci, Guido Reni, Sebastiano Ricci, Diego Velázquez, Anthony van Dyck, Antoine Watteau, François Boucher, Hubert Robert, Eugène Delacroix ('' Head of a Woman''), Gustave Courbet, Paul Gauguin and Pablo Picasso), 700 sculptures (Baccio Bandinelli, Auguste Rodin), more than 1,200 pieces of decorative arts, 10,000 drawings, 50,000 prints and the second largest collection of pastels in France after that of the Louvre. Papercutting
Papercutting or paper cutting is the art of paper designs. Art has evolved all over the world to adapt to different cultural styles. One traditional distinction most styles share is that the designs are cut from a single sheet of paper as opposed to multiple adjoining sheets as in collage. History Paper cut art appeared during the Han dynasty in 4th century AD after the Chinese official, Cai Lun invented paper in 105 AD. The oldest surviving paper cut out is a symmetrical circle from the 6th century Six Dynasties period found in Xinjiang China.Needham, Joseph. Chemistry and Chemical Technology. 974(1974). By the eighth or ninth century papercutting appeared in West Asia and in Turkey in the 16th century. Adele Schopenhauer
Luise Adelaide Lavinia Schopenhauer, known as Adele Schopenhauer (12 July 1797 – 25 August 1849), was a German author. She was the sister of the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer and daughter of author Johanna Schopenhauer. Henriette Sommer and Adrian van der Venne were pseudonyms used by her. Life and work Adele Schopenhauer was born in Hamburg to Heinrich Floris Schopenhauer, a businessman, and his wife Johanna. She grew up in Weimar under the influence of a circle of artists and scholars who gathered in the literary salon run by her mother, but she received no formal education. She was highly gifted and engaged in literature and poetry. She not only wrote fairy tales, poems, and novels, but was also a talented papercut artist. Both her papercuts and her literary contributions have been recognized and appreciated, especially in the English-speaking world. Louis Pierre Henriquel-Dupont
Louis Pierre Henriquel-Dupont (Paris 13 June 1797 – 20 January 1892 Paris) was a French engraver. His students included Charles Bellay, Jean-Baptiste Danguin, Adrien Didier, Alphonse and Jules François, Adolphe-Joseph Huot, Achille and Jules Jaquet, Jules Gabriel Levasseur, Aristide Louis, Louis Marckl, Isidore-Joseph Rousseaux, Abel Mignon and Charles Albert Waltner. Life Between the ages of 14 and 17, he studied painting in the studio of Pierre-Narcisse Guérin at the École des beaux-arts in Paris. He then devoted himself for four years to an apprenticeship in engraving under Charles Clément Balvay, nicknamed "the last of the fine burinists", who made him copy the great masters. Between 1816 and 1818, Henriquel lost out on the first prize for engraving twice, which determined him to set up his own studio and follow new styles. Louise-Adéone Drölling
Louise-Adéone Drölling, also known as Madame Joubert (29 May 1797 – 20 March 1834) was a French painter and draughtswoman. Both her father, Martin Drolling, and her older brother, Michel Martin Drolling, were celebrated artists in their day. Biography Louise-Adéone Drölling was born 29 May 1797. At about age 10, she modeled for her father for the small ''Portrait of the Artist's Daughter'' (Musée Magnin, Dijon), and later, at age 15, for the life-sized ''Portrait of Adéone'' ( Musée des Beaux-Arts, Strasbourg). Around this time, she was encouraged by her father to begin a career in painting. In 1819, Louise-Adéone married the architect Jean-Nicolas Pagnierre. She became a widow in 1822 and remarried four years later, in 1826.
