Göta Artillery Regiment
The Göta Artillery Regiment ( sv, Göta artilleriregemente), designation A 2, was a Swedish Army artillery regiment that traced its origins back to the 17th century. It was disbanded in 1962. The regiment's soldiers were originally recruited from Götaland, and it was also garrisoned there. History The regiment has its origins in the Artillery Regiment, raised in 1636. That regiment was split into four new regiments in 1794 of which Göta Artillery Regiment was one. The regiment was given the designation A 2 (2nd Artillery Regiment) in 1830. In 1893 four companies were split off to form Norrland Artillery Regiment and Karlsborg Artillery Corps. The regiment also changed name to 1st Göta Artillery Regiment (''Första Göta artilleriregemente'') in 1893, and another two companies were split off to form Småland Artillery Regiment in 1895. Charlotta Maria Eriksson (née Lambert; 11 February 1794 – 21 April 1862) was a Sweden, Swedish stage actress. She was also an instructor and deputy principal of the Royal Dramatic Training Academy. Elias Fries
Elias Magnus Fries (15 August 1794 – 8 February 1878) was a Swedish mycologist and botanist. Career Fries was born at Femsjö (Hylte Municipality), Småland, the son of the pastor there. He attended school in Växjö. He acquired an extensive knowledge of flowering plants from his father. In 1811 Fries entered Lund University where he obtained a doctorate in 1814. In the same year he was appointed an associate professorship in botany. He was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, and in 1824, became a full professor. In 1834 he became Borgström professor (Swed. ''Borgströmianska professuren'', a chair endowed by Erik Eriksson Borgström, 1708–1770) in applied economics at Uppsala University. The position was changed to "professor of botany and applied economics" in 1851. He was elected a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1849. Fredrica Ehrenborg
Anna Fredrica Ehrenborg, née Carlqvist (16 March 1794, Karlstad – 20 May 1873, Linköping), was a Swedish writer. She was regarded as one of the most notable supporters of The New Church in contemporary Sweden.Anna Fredrika Ehrenborg, Dictionary of Swedish National Biography (in Swedish) Anna Fredrika Carlqvist was orphaned at an early age and adopted by a burgher in Karlstad. She married the Parliamentary Ombudsman Casper Ehrenborg in 1811 and became the mother of the writer Betty Ehrenborg and Ulla Bring. She suffered from her lack of education, but educated herself by reading, and wished, and was able to pass on her knowledge. Gustafva Lindskog
Gustafva "Stafva" Carolina Lindskog (1794-1851), was a Swedish athlete. She was a pioneer within the field of physical education of females in Sweden, and likely the first female teacher in physical education of her country. Lindskog was the great granddaughter of the merchant Gustaf Lindskog in Stockholm. In 1818, she was appointed instructor in the first class of physical education for females, as the head of the gymnastic for women at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences, Royal Central Gymnastics Institute. Formally, she was not referred to as an instructor and teacher but merely as replacement for the male teacher P H Ling and called "Movement Giver". It was in fact not until 1849 that she was formally given the title of ordinary teacher at the institute. Gustafva Björklund
Gustafva Björklund (1794–1862) was a Swedish cookery book-author and restaurant owner. Biography Björklund was originally from Finland, but moved to Sweden as a child, and worked as a domestic and waitress on several locations. In 1833, she was employed as a waitress at the Gentlemen's club '' Lilla Sällskapet'' in Stockholm, and when it was dissolved in 1840, she took it over and managed it herself until 1851, during which time it was one of the most popular restaurants for the capital's upper classes. After 1851, she managed more humble establishments, and supported herself by renting out rooms. In 1847, she published her cookery book ''Kokbok'', which became a success and was reprinted in several editions and was followed by additional works in cookery, such as the ''Kok-bok för tjenare och tarfliga hushåll'' (1851).
