Frederick V Of Denmark
Frederick V (Danish and Norwegian: ''Frederik V''; 31 March 1723 – 14 January 1766) was King of Denmark–Norway and Duke of Schleswig-Holstein from 6 August 1746 until his death in 1766. He was the son of Christian VI of Denmark and Sophie Magdalene of Brandenburg-Kulmbach. Although the personal influence of Frederick was limited, his reign was marked by the progress of commerce and trade, and art and science prospered under his reign. Unlike his parents who were deeply devoted to Pietism, Frederick grew into a hedonist. As regent, he took part in the conduct of government by attending council meetings, but he was afflicted by alcoholism and most of his rule was dominated by able ministers who were influenced by the ideas of the Age of Enlightenment. His ministers marked his reign by the progress of commerce and the emerging industry. They also avoided involving Denmark-Norway in the European wars of his time. Johan Ludvig Holstein-Ledreborg
Johan Ludvig Holstein, Lensgreve til Ledreborg (7 September 1694 – 29 January 1763) was a Danish Minister of state from 1735 to 1751. The Danish colony Holsteinsborg on Greenland (now Sisimiut), was named after him. He was the ancestor of the Holstein-Ledreborg family, including Ludvig Holstein-Ledreborg and Knud Johan Ludvig, Lensgreve Holstein til Ledreborg, husband of Princess Marie Gabriele of Luxembourg. In 1739 he built Ledreborg Manor near Lejre, Denmark. Early life Johan Ludvig was the son of Johan Georg Holstein, who would himself become Danish prime minister, and Ida Frederikke Joachime of the Bülow family. He was born on 7 September 1694, at the Lübz castle which belonged to his maternal grandmother. His tutors during his upbringing included J. W. Jørgen Mandix (15 January 1759 – 8 August 1835) was a Danish-born Norwegian judge. He was born in Copenhagen to Mauritz Mandix and Lucie Marie Ursin. He graduated as cand.jur. in 1782, and was named as a Supreme Court Justice from 1814. Lauritz De Thurah
Laurids Lauridsen de Thurah, known as Lauritz de Thurah (4 March 1706 – 5 September 1759), was a Danish architect and architectural writer. He became the most important Danish architect of the late baroque period. As an architectural writer and historian he made a vital contribution to the understanding of both Denmark's architectural heritage and building construction in his day. De Thurah was a self-taught architect who learned much of what he knew by studying the inspiring buildings he saw on his travels outside Denmark between 1729 and 1731. He brought home the baroque style, which was then popular, but was quickly losing way to rococo. Throughout his life he maintained a loyalty to the baroque, even as the world around him continued to change and he lost work assignments to others who mastered the newer, more popular styles. Anne Dorthe Lund
Anna Dorothea Lund (died 29 October 1759) was a Danish stage actress. She belonged to the pioneer generation of actors at the Royal Danish Theatre, and was one of the leading members there for a decade after its foundation. The background and parentage of Anna Dorothea Lund is unknown, other than the fact that her original name was Holst. She married the tobacco trader Asser Mortensen Lund (d. 1760) in 1749, but evidently separated from him. In 1747, the belonged to the pioneer group of actors who started to perform theater plays in Copenhagen when the theater ban - introduced during the reign of Christian VI - was lifted, and in 1748, she followed the actors when a permanent theater building was provided them in the foundation of the Royal Danish Theatre. She is listed as one of the highest paid members of the staff.
