Copenhagen Fire Department
The Greater Copenhagen Fire Department ( da, Hovedstadens Beredskab, formerly ) forms the largest municipal fire brigade in Denmark with more than 1000 employees, this includes firefighters, ambulance personnel, administration and service workers, workers in prevention. The Central Fire Station is home to several other organisations, such as (the National Fire Chiefs Association) and a national youth fire organisation. was also planned to move in, but this is yet to be put in effect. History The brigade began as the Copenhagen Royal Fire Brigade () on 9 July 1687 under King Christian V. After the passing of the Copenhagen Fire Act on 18 May 1868, on 1 August 1870 the Copenhagen Fire Brigade became a municipal institution in its own right. Lorentz Reichwein (c. 1680, in Fåberg – 22 April 1735, in Copenhagen) was a Norwegian and Danish military officer. He was a son of Georg Reichwein, and grandson of Georg Reichwein, Sr. He served as county governor ( no, stiftsamtmann) of Akershus, and his final military rank was Major General. Andreas Peter Bernstorff
Andreas Peter Bernstorff (28 August 173521 June 1797), also known as Andreas Peter Graf von Bernstorff, was a Danish diplomat and Foreign Minister. He was a guardian of civil and political liberty. Background and early career Bernstorff was born in Hanover as a nephew of the statesman Johann Hartwig Ernst von Bernstorff (1712-72), whose position probably introduced him to Danish politics. His uncle induced him to study in the German and Swiss universities and travel for some years in Italy, France, England and Holland, to prepare himself for a statesman’s career. During these years he made the acquaintance of the poets Gellert and Jacobi, the writer Jean-Jacques Barthélemy, the duc de Choiseul, and Gottfried Achenwall, the statistician. After his European tour, he joined the Danish state service, first as a courtier and then from 1760 as a state official, both in foreign political and financial matters. Johan Boye Junge
Johan Peter Boye Junge (23 June 1735 - 22 February 1807) was a Danish language, Danish master carpenter, developer and head of the Copenhagen Fire Department, Copenhagen Fire Corps. Early life and education Junge was born on 23 June 1735 in Bramstedt, Holstein, the son of Harm Junge and Maria Huckfeldt. Aged eight, he was sent to Copenhagen to live with his uncle, Johan Boye Junge (1697-1778), who had title of court master carpenter and served as deputy director of the city's fire corps. He was apprenticed to his uncle. Career In 1759, Junge was granted citizenship as a master carpenter. His business grew steadily to a degree that made him one of the largest private employers in Copenhagen. In 1771, he was responsible for adapting the country house Frydenlund for Queen Caroline Mathilde. Christian VI Of Denmark
Christian VI (30 November 1699 – 6 August 1746) was King of Denmark and Norway from 1730 to 1746. The eldest surviving son of Frederick IV and Louise of Mecklenburg-Güstrow, he is considered one of Denmark-Norway's more anonymous kings, but he was a skilled politician, best known for his authoritarian regime. He was the first king of the Oldenburg dynasty to refrain from entering in any war. During his reign both compulsory confirmation (1736) and a public, nationwide school system (1739) were introduced. His chosen motto was "''Deo et populo''" (for God and the people).
