Frederick IV (Danish: ''Frederik''; 11 October 1671 – 12 October 1730) was King of Denmark and Norway from 1699 until his death. Frederick was the son of Christian V of Denmark-Norway and his wife Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel. Early life Frederick was born on 11 October 1671 at Copenhagen Castle as the eldest son of King Christian V and his spouse Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel. The newborn prince was baptized the same evening with the name Frederick by the royal confessional Hans Leth. His grandfather King Frederick III had died a year and a half before he was born, and as the eldest son of the ruling king he was thus crown prince from birth. At the age of 18, he was given a seat on the Council of State as the heir apparent to the throne. Ulrik Adolf Holstein
Ulrik Adolf Holstein, Greve til Holsteinborg (14 April 1664 – 21 August 1737) was a Danish nobleman and statesman. Life He was born in Schleswig-Holstein. His father, Adam Christopher von Holstein (1631-1690) owned Netzeband and Buchholtz in Mecklenburg; his mother was Cathrine Christine Reventlow of Futterkamp (1647-1704). He was the brother of Christian Frederik von Holstein (1678-1747), Ditlev von Holstein (1669-1721) and Henning Christopher von Holstein (1679-1753). In 1679 he became a page to Crown Prince Frederick and found favour, becoming a noble (''freiherr'') in 1700. He was removed from court in 1703 after attempting to dissuade the King from marrying royal mistress Elisabeth Helene von Vieregg (1679–1704). Viborg (), a city in central Jutland, Denmark, is the capital of both Viborg municipality and Region Midtjylland. Johanna Marie Fosie
Johanna Marie Fosie (24 March 1726 – 23 August 1764) was a Danish painter, the first professional native female artist in Denmark. Biography Fosie was the daughter of Anna Dorothea Ilsøe and the painter Jacob Fosie, who was a teacher in drawing from his home. She learned to paint from her father, together with her siblings Michael Fosie and Elisabeth Fosie. Johanna was the most talented of the siblings, and she signed and published illustrations in her father's drawing book in 1741. Fosie lived in her parents' home until her marriage. Her parents held a salon for artists in their home. Among the most frequent guests were the artists Johan Martin Preisler, Gustav de Lode and Michael Keyl, the painters Johan Hörner and Carl Gustaf Pilo, the sculptor Simon Carl Stanley, the poet Christian Frederik Wadskiær and several other writers. Peter Cramer
Peter Cramer (24 August 1726 in Copenhagen – 17 July 1782 in Copenhagen) was a Danish painter who specialized in theatrical scenery and decorative work. Biography He was apparently self-taught. In the 1740s, he did some drawings for early versions of the ''Voyage d'Egypte et de Nubie'' by Frederic Louis Norden on behalf of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters. On that basis, in 1754, he was recommended to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts for a travel scholarship that would enable him to become "an accomplished history painter". The Academy insisted on following procedure, however, and he was required to compete for a gold medal in 1756. He failed to come in first and his travel plans were not realized. He began doing set decorations in the mid 1750s, when he created scenes for a friend, , a composer who had recently written two operas. Louise of Denmark and Norway (19 October 1726 – 8 August 1756) was a Danish and Norwegian princess, the daughter of King Christian VI of Denmark and his wife Sophie Magdalene of Brandenburg-Kulmbach. Following her marriage to Ernest Frederick III, Duke of Saxe-Hildburghausen, she became Duchess of Saxe-Hildburghausen. Biography Louise was described by foreign diplomats as a lively person, not well suited to the rigid and religious court of her parents. The relations between her and her parents were not good because of their differing personalities. Saxe-Hildburghausen () was an Ernestine duchy in the southern side of the present State of Thuringia in Germany. It existed from 1680 to 1826 but its name and borders are currently used by the District of Hildburghausen. History After the Duke of Saxe-Gotha, Ernest the Pious, died on 26 March 1675 in Gotha, the Principality was divided on 24 February 1680 among his seven surviving sons. The lands of Saxe-Hildburghausen went to the sixth son, who became Ernest II, the first Duke of Saxe-Hildburghausen. But the new Principality did not have complete independence. Honoratus Bonnevie
Honoratus Bonnevie (5 December 1726 – 8 November 1811) was a Norwegian physician. He was born in Odense, Denmark as the son of Honoré Bonnevie and his wife Boel Corneliusdatter. His mother hailed from Svelvik, Norway whereas his father hailed from Antibes, France. Honoré had migrated to Norway from France and settled in Brevik in 1714, but then moved to Denmark in 1719. He first went to Fredericia, but then finally settled in Odense in 1723. Honoratus Bonnevie was educated as a pharmacist in Odense, then he studied medicine at the University of Copenhagen, graduating in 1749. He came to Norway in 1754, and worked in Raabygdelaget, Stavanger, Egersund and Mandal. His son Andreas was born here in 1782. Honoratus Bonnevie was married twice. He retired as a physician in 1800, and lived in Mandal until the city fire of 1810, where he lost his house and belongings. He lived with his son Tørris Bonnevie near Horten until his death in 1811.
