Frederick IV Of Denmark
Frederick IV (Danish: ''Frederik''; 11 October 1671 – 12 October 1730) was King of Denmark and Norway from 1699 until his death. Frederick was the son of Christian V of Denmark-Norway and his wife Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel. Early life Frederick was born on 11 October 1671 at Copenhagen Castle as the eldest son of King Christian V and his spouse Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel. The newborn prince was baptized the same evening with the name Frederick by the royal confessional Hans Leth. His grandfather King Frederick III had died a year and a half before he was born, and as the eldest son of the ruling king he was thus crown prince from birth. At the age of 18, he was given a seat on the Council of State as the heir apparent to the throne. As crown prince, Frederick broadened his education by travelling in Europe, led by his chamberlain Ditlev Wibe. Mo Church (Nordland)
Mo Church ( no, Mo kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Rana Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the town of Mo i Rana. It is the church for the Mo parish which is part of the Indre Helgeland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, Churches in Norway#Floor plan, cruciform, wooden church was built in a neo-gothic style in 1724 using plans drawn up by the architects Andreas Grenstad and Espen Poulson. The church seats about 400 people. History The church in Mo i Rana was founded in 1723-1724 when missionary Thomas von Westen led the construction of the new church. The first worship service held in the new church was on 6 January 1724. In 1832 the church underwent a renovation and expansion of the building. It included building a higher and steeper roof with a small onion dome tower on top. In 1860, the interior was redesigned. The church also underwent renovations in 1956 and again in 2007. Ole Irgens (bishop)
Ole Irgens (22 January 1724—15 October 1803) was a priest and theologian. He was a bishop in the Church of Norway from 1779–1803. Irgens was born in Surendal in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway, to vicar Johannes Irgens. He enrolled as a student in 1741, but was examined two years later and was hired as chaplain under his father. He left in 1756 to become a ship's priest in Morocco, but citing health problems, he returned to Norway in 1760 to become vicar in Faaberg. In 1773 he was promoted to vicar in the Nidaros Cathedral and (at the same time) he was also the diocesan dean (''stiftsprovst'') in the Diocese of Nidaros. He served as vice praeses of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters from 1773 to 1780. In 1779 Irgens took a doctorate with the thesis ''De spiritu oris Jehovae creante, ps. 33. v. 6''.
