16th Krajina Motorized Brigade
The 16th Krajina Motorized Brigade (Serbian: ''16. Крајишка моторизована бригада''; ''16. Krajiška motorizovana brigada)'' was a based unit in Banja Luka part of the 1st Krajina Corps of the Army of Republika Srpska. History The 16th Krajina Brigade was the successor of the Krajina Strike Proletarian Brigade (Serbian: ''Крајишка ударна пролетерска бригада''; ), established in 1942 by Yugoslav Partisans in the village of Lamovita near Prijedor, Bosnia. After the second world war the brigade was re-established in Travnik and later moved to Banja Luka as the 16th Regiment. In 1985 the 16th Krajina Regiment was renamed 16th Krajina Brigade. With the Breakup of Yugoslavia, the brigade entered into service with the Army of Republika Srpska. Doboj
Doboj ( sr-cyrl, Добој, ) is a city located in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated on the banks of Bosna river, in the northern region of the Republika Srpska. As of 2013, it has a population of 71,441 inhabitants. Doboj is the largest national railway junction and the operational base of the Railways Corporation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is located in Doboj. Posavina ( sr-cyr, Посавина) is a geographical region that stretches along the Sava river, encompassing only the inner areas of the Sava river basin, that are adjacent or near to the Sava river itself, namely catch region spanning from the Julian Alps in the northwest to the confluence with the Danube in the southeast. Manjača
Manjača ( sr-cyrl, Мањача) is a name of a mountain located 22 km south of the city Banja Luka, in northern part of Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its highest peak is high peak ''Velika Manjača''. History The region was a stronghold during World War II for Serbian nationalist Chetnik fighters. After the climax of the war, the new communist government of Josip Broz Tito dispersed the local Serb population as retribution and established a large army base and firing range for the new Yugoslav People's Army (JNA). Peklenica ( hu, Bányavár) is a village in Međimurje County, Croatia. It is located 3.1 km from Mursko Središće, 11 km from Čakovec, and is adjacent to Križovec and Vratišinec. As of the 2011 census, there were 1217 inhabitants. Peklenica is known for its natural source of crude oil known to local population since at least the Middle Ages. The Brotherhood and Unity Highway (; ; or , ), officially classed as the M-1 highway, was a highway that stretched over across Yugoslavia, from the Austrian border at Jesenice in the northwest via Ljubljana, Zagreb, Belgrade and Skopje to Gevgelija on the Greek border in the southeast. Nova Varoš ( sr-cyr, Нова Варош, ) is a town and municipality located in the Zlatibor District of southwestern Serbia. The municipality of Nova Varoš has a population of 16,638, while the town of Nova Varoš itself has a population of 8,795 inhabitants. History Nova Varoš was founded in the middle of the 16th century.
