Sigrid Banér
Sigrid Gustafsdotter Banér (17 January 1592, Djursholm Castle - 22 October 1669), was a Swedish noble, letter writer and Scholarship founder. She is most known in history for the letters to her sister Anna, in which she describe the last days of her father Gustaf Banér, who was executed during the Linköping Bloodbath. Life Sigrid Banér was born to Gustaf Banér and Kristina Svantesdotter Sture (1559-1619) and the sister of among others Per Gustafsson Banér and Johan Banér. She never married, and after the death of her mother, she lived with her sister Anna Gustafsdotter Banér (1585-1656) and her brother-in-law count Gabriel Bengtsson Oxenstierna (1586-1656), tutoring her nieces and nephews. Legacy Sigrid Banér was described as an autodidact who enjoyed reading and writing. She wrote genealogical research of her family, and notes of the lives of her family members, particularly the childhood of her brothers. Margareta Slots
Margareta Slots or Margareta Cabiljau (died 1669) was the royal mistress of king Gustav II Adolf of Sweden and the mother of his illegitimate son Gustav of Vasaborg. Margareta Slots was the daughter of the Dutch merchant Abraham Cabiljau and Maria van Leest. During the Ingrian War Slots met Gustav at the siege of Pskov in 1615. At the time she was married to the Dutch military engineer Andries Sessandes, who fell in battle at Pskov soon after (October 1615). In 1616, she and Gustav had a son, Gustav Gustavson; Gustav acknowledged her son and granted her an allowance. She then married the paper maker Arendt Slots, who died a few years later, and then the petardist and "Feuerwerker" ( artillerist and gunpowder maker) Jacob Trello (died 1632), and was given the estate Benhamra in Uppland, where she lived with her husbands, often asking for favours from the king. Margareta Abrahamsdotter Brahe (28 June 1603, Rydboholm – 15 May 1669, Weferlingen) was a Swedish aristocrat and court official, Landgravine of Hesse-Homburg by marriage to Frederick II, Landgrave of Hesse-Homburg. She aroused a lot of attention with her marriages, which were considered scandalous. Life First marriage Margareta Brahe was the daughter of ''riksråd'' Count Abraham Pedersson Brahe of Visingsborg (1569-1630) and Elsa Gyllenstierna of Lundholm, and as such the sister of Per Brahe the Younger and Nils Brahe, and the cousin of Ebba Brahe. Johannes Canuti Lenaeus
Johannes Canuti Lenaeus (29 November 1573 – 23 April 1669) was a professor at Uppsala University and Archbishop of Uppsala in the Church of Sweden. Biography Lenaeus was born at Länna parish in Uppland, Sweden where his father was parish priest. After several years of studies, mainly in Germany at universities in Rostock and Wittenberg, he was appointed professor of logic at Uppsala University in 1604. After being ordained priest, he was in 1613 also appointed deputy vice-rector and professor of theology. After more studies in Germany, he was also appointed professor in Greek and Hebrew. In 1638, he was named the first theology professor and clergyman at Uppsala. Lenaeus was appointed Archbishop in 1647. Gustaf Von Psilander
Gustaf von Psilander (16 August 1669– 18 March 1738) was an admiral of the Royal Swedish Navy. In 1704, Psilander fought his most famous action in the Battle of Orford Ness against a superior English force where he was defeated, the battle coming about as a result of his refusal to salute them under strict orders from his king. Early life Psilander was the son of a clerk in the Royal Wardrobe, who died when Psilander was eleven years old. Raised by a friend of the father, the Stockholm Alderman Johan Hagemeister, he joined the Navy as a clerk in 1687. Two years later Psilander was promoted to Gunner's Mate, and the following year to Gunner. To gain experience, and achieve promotion, Psilander joined the Dutch Navy during the Nine Years' War, serving as rating and petty officer, fighting in the Battle of Beachy Head (1690).
