Lambert Van Haven
Lambert van Haven (16 April 1630 - 9 May 1695) was a Danish-Norwegian architect, master builder and painter. He was born in Bergen, the son of the artist Solomon van Haven who had already succeeded in winning the favour of the Danish-Norwegian monarchy. Starting in 1653, he spent some 16 years travelling in Italy, France and the Netherlands where he studied Baroque painting and architecture. Under Christian V, he was appointed Denmark-Norway's first official General Building Master in 1671 with overall responsibility for executing the king's architectural wishes. He died in Copenhagen. Principal works Church of Our Saviour Van Haven is remembered above all for his architecture, especially for the enormous Church of Our Saviour, Copenhagen built in the Dutch Baroque style in the form of a Greek cross with Tuscan pilasters rising to the top of the facade. Portrait Of Mariana Of Austria
''Portrait of Mariana of Austria'' is a 1652–1653 oil-on-canvas painting by Diego Velázquez, the leading artist of the Spanish Golden Age, existing in a number of versions. Its subject, Doña Mariana (known as Maria Anna), was the daughter of Emperor Ferdinand III and Maria Anna of Spain. She was nineteen years old when the painting was completed. Although described as vivacious and fun-loving in life, she is given an unhappy expression in Velázquez's portrait. The portrait is painted in shades of black and red, and her face is heavily made up. Her right hand rests on the back of a chair, and she holds a lace handkerchief in her left hand. Her bodice is decorated with jewellery, including a gold necklace, bracelets and a large gold brooch. A clock rests on scarlet drapery behind her, signifying her status and discernment. Giuseppe Maria Mazza
Giuseppe Maria Mazza (13 May 1653 – 6 June 1741) was one of the leading sculptors of Bologna, Italy, in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He was trained as a painter, but is best known for his fine sculptural work in terracotta and stucco. Life Mazza was born in Bologna on 13 May 1653, son of Camillo Mazza (1602–72). His father was a sculptor who had studied under Alessandro Algardi in Rome, and who worked in Bologna, Padua and Venice. He trained as a sculptor under his father for a while, then studied painting in Bologna under the fresco painter Domenico Maria Canuti. He painted in Carlo Cignani's life classes. He also studied with Lorenzo Pasinelli. He seems to have returned to sculpture after having left Canuti with the painter Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole and studied at a private school in the Palazzo Fava in Bologna. Felix Meyer
Felix Meyer (1 February 1653 – 11 June 1713) was a Swiss painter and engraver. Biography Meyer was born in Winterthur. He primarily painted landscapes. Meyer moved to Nuremberg in 1678 where he studied painting and the arts. During his time there he met Georg Philipp Rugendas. Meyer moved back to Winterthur in 1678 to live and work. He painted a number of landscape works based on the mountains and glaciers there. Starting in 1688, Meyer was involved in local politics and the community, first as First Sergeant in Winterthur, then in 1697 as part of the Grand Council of Winterthur. From 1699 to 1703 he lived for a time in Bern. He later returned to Winterthur where he acted as a steward at the Wyden Castle. Nicolas Fouché
Nicolas Fouché (1653–1733) was a French painter. Fouché was born in Troyes, the son of the painter Léonard Fouché. He was received into the Académie de Saint-Luc on 15 March 1679. The abbé de Monville, biographer of Pierre Mignard, called Fouché one of his students. Cardinal Melchior de Polignac owned a series of paintings of the eight liberal arts by Fouché, inventorised by his heir, in 1738. He died in Paris.
