15th Gaudí Awards
The 15th Gaudí Awards ceremony, organised by the Catalan Film Academy, were held on 22 January 2023 at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya's Oval Room. It was hosted by . Background The awards added three new categories, namely that of Best New Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and a non-gendered acting award for the Best New Performance. The nominations were read by and Roger Casamajor on 14 December 2022 from Auditorium of Casa Milà, La Pedrera. In the wake of Agustí Villaronga's death, Catalan Film Academy president Judith Colell announced changes in the gala in order to pay homage to the filmmaker, who helmed signature Catalan pictures such as ''Black Bread'' or ''Uncertain Glory (2017 film), Uncertain Glory''. Museu Nacional D'Art De Catalunya
The (; ), abbreviated as MNAC (), is a museum of Catalonia, Catalan visual art located in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Situated on Montjuïc hill at the end of Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina, near Plaça d'Espanya, Barcelona, Pl Espanya, the museum is especially notable for its outstanding collection of Romanesque art, Romanesque church paintings, and for Art of Catalonia, Catalan art and design from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including modernisme and noucentisme. Isaki Lacuesta
Isaki Lacuesta (born 28 November 1975) is a Spanish film director from Catalonia. His work includes documentary film, narrative film and video art. Lacuesta was born into a family of Basque origin. He studied audiovisual communication at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained his Master's Degree in documentary film making at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, where he now works as a lecturer in documentary film making. He also teaches at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Pompeu Fabra University, the Centre d'estudis cinematogràfics de Catalunya, and the University of Girona. He is a longtime collaborator and domestic partner of Isa Campo, after whom he rebranded his first name as Isaki (he is actually named Iñaki). Carla Simón Pipó (born 22 December 1986) is a Spanish film director. Most known for her films '' Summer 1993'' (2017) and '' Alcarràs'' (2022), for the latter she received the Golden Bear at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival. Biography Simón was born 22 December 1986 in Barcelona and spent her youth in the Catalan village of Les Planes d'Hostoles. By the age of six, her parents died of AIDS so she had to live with her uncle and his family in Garrotxa in northern Catalonia. In 2009, Simón graduated from studying film science at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Her father was Galician. 3/24 (, ''tres vint-i-quatre'') is a Catalan free-to-air television channel owned and operated by Televisió de Catalunya (TVC). It's the TVC's all-news network, launched on 11 September 2003. History 3/24 was launched on 11 September 2003 as an initiative of the Catalan public television to develop digital terrestrial television in Catalonia. In April 2015, the channel stopped broadcasting in the Balearic Islands, along with channels El 33 and Super3 (which run under the same frequency) as a result of the reorganisation of the regional radio space, returning in December of that same year.
