15th Busan International Film Festival
The 15th Busan International Film Festival was held from October 7 to October 15, 2010, at the Busan Stadium Yachting Center Outdoor Stage, hosted by actors Jung Joon-ho and Han Ji-hye. A total of 308 films from 67 countries were screened in 6 theaters, with a record 103 world premieres and 52 international premieres. The festival had a total attendance of 182,046. During the event, festival director Kim Dong-ho announced the construction of the Busan Cinema Center, which will be the main venue of the festival in the future. Kim also announced his own retirement, having served as director since the festival was founded in 1996. Under The Hawthorn Tree (film)
''Under the Hawthorn Tree'' () is 2010 Chinese film directed by Zhang Yimou. It was adapted from the popular 2007 novel ''Hawthorn Tree Forever'' by Ai Mi, which was based on a true story set during the Cultural Revolution. The film was released in Mainland China (September 2010), Hong Kong (November 2010) and Singapore (February 2011). Kim Tae-yong
Kim Tae-yong (born December 9, 1969) is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. After his feature directorial debut '' Memento Mori'' (1999), he helmed the critically acclaimed ''Family Ties'' (2006), and the English-language remake '' Late Autumn'' (2010). Career Although he initially wanted to pursue writing, Kim Tae-yong eventually graduated from Yonsei University in 1994 with a major in Politics and Diplomacy. He first became involved in Korean cinema through a friend, who was an assistant director of an independent production. Inspired by the vibrant atmosphere that came with working on a set, Kim then enrolled at the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) in 1996. Arvin Chen (born 26 November 1978) is a Taiwanese-American director and screenwriter. He is best known for his film ''Au Revoir Taipei.'' Early life Chen was born and raised in the United States. His parents were immigrants from Taiwan. He was born in Boston, grew up mostly in Foster City in the Bay Area, and attended U.C. Berkeley majoring in architecture. Feng Xiaogang
Feng Xiaogang (; born 18 March 1958 in Beijing) is a Chinese film director, screenwriter, actor, producer and politician. He is well known in China as a highly successful commercial filmmaker whose comedy films do consistently well at the box office, although Feng has broken out from that mold by making some drama and period drama films. Feng was a member of the 12th National Committee of the CPPCC. Biography The son of a college professor and a factory nurse, Feng joined the Beijing Military Region Art Troupe as a stage designer after high school. He began his cinema career as an art designer in the Beijing Television Art Center in 1985. Later, he moved on to write screenplays. is a 2010 samurai film directed by Takashi Miike, and starring Kōji Yakusho, Takayuki Yamada, Sōsuke Takaoka, Hiroki Matsukata, Kazuki Namioka and Gorō Inagaki. ''The Recipe'' (; literally "Soybean paste") is a 2010 South Korean film about a television producer who finds out many surprising truths while tracking down the story about a mysterious bean paste stew.
