The 14th Robert Awards ceremony was held in 1997 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Organized by the Danish Film Academy, the awards honoured the best in Danish and foreign film of 1996. Danish Film Academy
The Danish Film Academy was founded in 1982 by a number of people with professional connection to the film industry. The Academy aims to promote the film as an independent art form, and its members are primarily people who work with film. Katrin Cartlidge
Katrin Juliet Cartlidge (15 May 1961 – 7 September 2002) was an English actress. She first appeared on screen as Lucy Collins in the Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside'' (1982–1983), before going on to win the 1997 Evening Standard Film Award for Best Actress for the Mike Leigh film ''Career Girls''. Her other film appearances included Leigh's ''Naked'' (1993), '' Before the Rain'' (1994), ''Breaking the Waves'' (1996) and ''From Hell'' (2001). Early life Cartlidge was born in London, to Derek, an English father and Bobbi, a German-Jewish refugee mother. She was educated at the Parliament Hill School for Girls in Camden. Anders Refn
Anders Refn (born 8 April 1944) is a Danish film editor and director. Biography Refn graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 1969. He has credits for 72 features and TV series, as well as a 10 shorts and 26 documentaries. Refn has often worked as assistant director and technical director, and worked with Lars von Trier as editor of ''Breaking the Waves'' (1996) and ''Antichrist'' (2009). He was assistant director of ''Dancer in the Dark'' (2000), ''Dogville'' (2003), ''Melancholia'', and ''Nymphomaniac'' (2013). Hamsun (film)
''Hamsun'' is a 1996 internationally co-produced drama film directed by Jan Troell, about the later life of the Norwegian author Knut Hamsun (Max von Sydow), who, together with his wife Marie Hamsun (Ghita Nørby), went from being a national hero to a traitor after supporting Nazi Germany during their occupation of Norway during World War II. Sydow and Nørby speak in their native Swedish and Danish respectively, though there is a scene where he speaks English and several where she speaks German; the rest of the cast speak Norwegian or German.
