14th Canadian Comedy Awards
The 14th Canadian Comedy Awards, presented by the Canadian Comedy Foundation for Excellence (CCFE), honoured the best live, television, film, and Internet comedy of 2012. The ceremony was held at Centrepointe Theatre in Ottawa, Ontario, on 6 October 2013 and was hosted by Ryan Belleville. Canadian Comedy Awards, also known as Beavers, were awarded in 26 categories. Winners in 5 categories were chosen by the public through an online poll and others were chosen by members of industry organizations. The awards ceremony concluded the Canadian Comedy Awards Festival which ran from 3 to 6 October and included over 20 comedy events. The films ''My Awkward Sexual Adventure'' and ''Please Kill Mr. Know It All'' led with six nominations each, followed by the film '' Dead Before Dawn 3D'' and TV series ''Seed'' with five. Centrepointe Theatre
Centrepointe Theatre stylized as ''Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe'', are publicly owned performance halls located in the former city of Nepean in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The building originally opened in 1988 with a 954-seat mainstage theatre and added a smaller studio theatre in February 2011. In 2018, Meridian Credit Union entered into a fifteen-year naming rights agreement with the City of Ottawa. The studio theatre was renamed the Les Lye Studio Theatre in 2019. Steve Patterson is a Canadian stand-up comedy, stand-up comedian, actor, writer, television and radio host, and television producer known for his satire and observational comedy. The Bell Sensplex is a four-pad ice facility, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is the primary practice facility of the Ottawa Senators NHL team. In a partnership with the city of Ottawa, it is also used for minor hockey and hosts the annual Bell Capital Cup ice hockey tournament. The Sensplex is located at 1565 Maple Grove Road in the former city of Kanata. It was also the home arena for the Ottawa Lady Senators of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. History The Senators, in a partnership with the city of Ottawa, built the Bell Sensplex, for community and team use at a cost of .
