Drive My Car (film)
is a 2021 Japanese drama film directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi and written by Hamaguchi and Takamasa Oe. It follows a theatre director (played by Hidetoshi Nishijima), who directs a multilingual production of ''Uncle Vanya'' while dealing with the death of his wife. Hidetoshi Nishijima (actor)
is a Japanese actor. He is widely regarded as one of Japan's leading actors, having appeared in a wide range of films from science fiction films such as ''Shin Ultraman'' (2022) to small-scale art films such as ''Dolls'' (2002). He gained international recognition for his critically acclaimed leading role in the 2021 film '' Drive My Car'', for which he received the Japan Academy Film Prize for Best Actor. Kamila Andini (born 6 May 1986) is an Indonesian film director known for her critically acclaimed debut ''The Mirror Never Lies''. Biography Andini was born on 6 May 1986 and is the eldest daughter of filmmaker Garin Nugroho. Déa Kulumbegashvili is a Georgian film director and writer, of Ossetian origin. She is known for her 2020 film ''Beginning'', which won and was nominated for numerous awards. Kulumbegashvili was born in Oriol, Russia (Oryol), and raised in a small town called Lagodekhi at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains in Georgia. Her filmmaking has been informed by her experience of growing up in a place with such a mix of ethnicities and nationalities.
