13th Parliament Of Catalonia
The 13th Parliament of Catalonia, after 4 June 2021 known as the 14th Parliament of Catalonia, is the current meeting of the Parliament of Catalonia, with the membership determined by the results of the 2021 Catalan regional election, regional election held on 14 February 2021. The congress met for the first time on 12 March 2021. According to the Statute of Autonomy of Catalonia of 2006, Statute of Autonomy the maximum legislative term of the congress is 4 years from the preceding election. It is the thirteenth meeting of the Parliament of Catalonia since the falling of Francoist Spain, Franco's regime, however, during this session the numbering was changed in order to consider as the first meeting the one from the regional parliament established as a result of the Statute of Autonomy of Catalonia of 1932, 1932 Statue of Autonomy, whose duration was interrupted by the Spanish Civil War. Parliament Of Catalonia
The Parliament of Catalonia ( ca, Parlament de Catalunya, ; es, Parlamento de Cataluña; oc, Parlament de Catalonha) is the unicameral legislature of the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The Parliament is currently made up of 135 members, known as deputies (''diputats''/''deputats''/''diputados''), who are elected for four-year terms or after extraordinary dissolution, chosen by universal suffrage in lists of four constituencies, corresponding to the Catalan provinces. The Parliament building is located in Ciutadella Park, Barcelona. Established in 1932, after the grant of self-government to Catalonia by the Second Spanish Republic, it went to exile in 1939 as a consequence of the Nationalist victory in the Spanish Civil War. Statute Of Autonomy Of Catalonia Of 2006
The Statute of Autonomy of Catalonia of 2006 ( ca, Estatut d’Autonomia de Catalunya) provides Catalonia's basic institutional regulations under the Spanish Constitution of 1978. It defines the rights and obligations of the citizens of Catalonia, the political institutions of the Catalan community, their competences and relations with the rest of Spain, and the financing of the Government of Catalonia. This Law was approved by referendum on 18 June 2006 and supplanted the first Statute of Sau, which dated from 1979. The approval was given by the 36% of Catalan people with the right to vote. Abstention in the referendum was high: more than 50%. On 28 June 2010, the Constitutional Court of Spain assessed the constitutionality of several articles of the Law, rewriting 14 of them and dictating the interpretation for 27 more. Popular Unity Candidacy
The Popular Unity Candidacy ( ca, Candidatura d'Unitat Popular, , CUP) is a left-wing to far-left pro-Catalan independence political party active primarily in Catalonia, where it has political representation, but also in other autonomous communities in Spain it considers to be part of the Catalan Countries. The CUP traditionally has focused on municipal politics, and is made up of a series of autonomous candidatures that run in local elections. Its presence is strongest within the contemporary Catalonia autonomous community. In 2012, the CUP decided for the first time to run for Catalan parliamentary elections, gaining 3 MPs out of 135. Vox (Latin for "voice", often stylized as VOX; ) is a national-conservative political party in Spain. Together for Catalonia ( ca, Junts per Catalunya, Junts) is a Catalan political party established in July 2020 by former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont, announced on 2 July as a result of the foundering of negotiations with the Catalan European Democratic Party (PDeCAT) over the re-organization of the post- convergent political space under the "Together for Catalonia" umbrella. The party's founding congress will take place between 25 July and 3 October, after being launched on 18 July with the public presentation of its imagery and corporate identity by Elsa Artadi and Marta Madrenas.
