13th Bangladesh National Film Awards
The 13th Bangladesh National Film Awards, presented by Ministry of Information, Bangladesh to felicitate the best of Bangladeshi Cinema released in the year 1988. The ceremony took place in Dhaka in 1988 and awards were given by then President of Bangladesh. The National Film Awards are the only film awards given by the government itself. Every year, a national panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry, and the award ceremony is held in Dhaka. 1988 was the 13th National Film Awards (Bangladesh), National Film Awards. Sabina Yasmin
Sabina Yasmin (born 4 September 1953) is a Bangladeshi singer. She is best known as a playback singer in Bengali cinema. She has won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer a record 14 times. She has recorded more than 1,500 songs for films and over 10,000 songs in total. Yasmin was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1984 and Independence Day Award in 1996 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life Yasmin was born on 4 September 1953. Her father, Lutfar Rahman, worked in Provincial Civil Service of British Raj and her mother, Begum Mouluda Khatun, was a vocal artist who took lessons from the musician Ustaad Kader Baksh. Yasmin's sisters are singers Farida, Fauzia, Nazma and Nilufar. The first song that Yasmin learned with the household harmonium was ''Khokon Moni Shona''. National Film Awards (Bangladesh) Ceremonies
The National Film Awards is the most prominent film award ceremony in India. Established in 1954, it has been administered, along with the International Film Festival of India and the Indian Panorama, by the Indian government's Directorate of Film Festivals since 1973. Bachsas ( Bangladesh Cholochitra Sangbadik Samity) Awards was introduced in 1972 to encourage the fledgling film industry of the country. Bangladesh Cholochchitra Shangbadik Samity (Bangladesh Cine-Journalists' Association) gave out their most prestigious awards to outstanding performers in film, television, music, dance and theatre. Firoza Rahman Tina
Tina Khan (25 May 1966 – 20 January 1989) was a Bangladeshi film actress and producer. She appeared in about 25 films. She was conferred special award posthumously on 13th National Film Awards. Biography Khan was born on 25 May 1966 in Chuadanga. Her real name was Firoza Rahman Tina. She was married to Moazzem Hossain when she was in class nine. After coming to Dhaka Khan joined the theatre group of Abdullah Al Mamun. Later, she began to act in films. She is known for a film titled ''Princess Tina Khan'' which was released in 1985. She produced that film too. The film was based on lives of Jatra artists. Khan died in a road accident on 20 January 1989. She was conferred a special award posthumously in the 13th National Film Awards.
