Indochine (band)
Indochine () is a French pop rock and New wave music, new wave band formed in Paris in 1981. They became very successful in the Francophonie, Europe and Latin America in the 1980s, with songs like "L'Aventurier" and "Canary Bay". Following the release of several critically acclaimed, but commercially unsuccessful, albums in the 1990s, the group returned to stardom with the release of ''Paradize'' in 2002. The band has sold over 13 million albums and singles. History 1980s Indochine (French for Indochina) was formed in 1981 by two Frenchmen in their early twenties, Nicola Sirkis and Dominique Nicolas, in Paris. Synth-pop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. It was prefigured in the 1960s and early 1970s by the use of synthesizers in progressive rock, electronic, art rock, disco, and particularly the Krautrock of bands like Kraftwerk. ''Black City Parade'' is the twelfth studio album by French band Indochine. It was released on 8 February 2013 in France, peaking at number one on both the French and Belgian Albums Charts, as well as being certified Platinum in France. The album was supported by the multi-leg Black City Tour. Production Most of the album was mixed by Shane Stoneback. Promotion The song "Kill Nico" was premiered during the "Paradize + 10" concerts that took place before the release of the album. The first single released from the album was "Memoria", on 15 November 2012. The second single from the album was " College Boy", released on 13 May 2013. The video attracted attention due to its graphic violence pointing at homophobia. The third single from the album is "Black City Parade". Mick Guzauski
Nathan "Mick" Guzauski is an American multi-platinum mixing engineer and sound engineer. His work spans a wide range of styles, including jazz, R&B, Latin, rock, pop, easy listening, funk and hip hop. He won a 2002 Latin Grammy for Thalía's "Arrasando", four 2004 Latin Grammys for Alejandro Sanz's " No Es Lo Mismo" (including Best Engineered Album), and the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, for Eric Clapton's " Back Home." As of 2001, he had mixed 27 # 1 singles. He also won multiple awards for the engineering and mixing of the Daft Punk album Random Access Memories.
