133rd Ohio General Assembly
The One Hundred Thirty-Third Ohio General Assembly was a meeting of the Ohio state legislature, composed of the Ohio State Senate and the Ohio House of Representatives. It convened in Columbus, Ohio on January 7, 2019 and adjourned December 31, 2020. The apportionment of legislative districts was based on the 2010 United States Census and 2011 redistricting plan. Both the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives were retained by the Ohio Republican Party. Ohio Statehouse
The Ohio Statehouse is the List of state and territorial capitols in the United States, state capitol building and seat of government for the U.S. state of Ohio. The Greek Revival building is located on Capitol Square in Downtown Columbus, Ohio, Downtown Columbus. The capitol houses the Ohio General Assembly, consisting of the Ohio House of Representatives, House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate, Senate. It also contains the ceremonial offices of the List of Governors of Ohio, governor, Lieutenant Governor of Ohio, lieutenant governor, state Ohio State Treasurer, treasurer, and state Ohio State Auditor, auditor. 2010 United States Census
The United States census of 2010 was the twenty-third United States national census. National Census Day, the reference day used for the census, was April 1, 2010. The census was taken via mail-in citizen self-reporting, with enumerators serving to spot-check randomly selected neighborhoods and communities. As part of a drive to increase the count's accuracy, 635,000 temporary enumerators were hired. The population of the United States was counted as 308,745,538, a 9.7% increase from the 2000 census. This was the first census in which all states recorded a population of over half a million people as well as the first in which all 100 largest cities recorded populations of over 200,000. Anthony DeVitis
Anthony DeVitis (born July 14, 1965) is a politician who was in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 36th District from his election in November 2012 until January 1, 2021. He was appointed to represent the 43rd District in December 2011, but he was placed in the 36th District after redistricting. Bill Seitz
William J. Seitz III (born October 29, 1954) is the state representative for the 30th District of the Ohio House of Representatives. He is a Republican. The district consists of Cheviot, Delhi Township, Green as well as portions of Cincinnati, in Hamilton County. Formerly, Seitz represented the same seat from 2001 to 2007. Jim Butler (Ohio Politician)
James L. Butler Jr. (born May 10, 1973) is a former Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 41st House District, and was Speaker Pro Tempore. Life and career Butler received his bachelor's degree in history with honors and distinction from the United States Naval Academy in 1995, graduating in the top 10% of his class which earned him a spot in flight school. Sean O'Brien (Ohio Politician)
Sean O'Brien (born August 19, 1968) is a former Democratic member of the Ohio Senate who represented the 32nd district. The district includes all of Ashtabula and Trumbull counties, as well as a portion of Geauga County (including the City of Chardon; but excluding Chardon Township). O'Brien formerly served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 2011 to 2016. Cecil Thomas (politician)
Cecil L. Thomas (born October 21, 1952) is an American politician and former law enforcement officer who served as a member of the Ohio Senate from the 9th district. Early life and education Thomas was born in rural northern Alabama and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio at a young age. He graduated from Withrow High School. In 1974, Thomas earned a Bachelor of Science degree in law enforcement technology from the University of Cincinnati. Kenny Yuko
Kenny Yuko (born August 1, 1950) is an American politician and union activist, currently serving as a member of the Ohio Senate, representing the 25th District. Previously, he was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 7th District from 2005 to 2012. Yuko was a political and union activist for more than two decades. Early life and education Yuko grew up in Euclid, Ohio and graduated from Brush High School. He attended Cuyahoga Community College and Kent State University. Matt Huffman (born April 1, 1960) is an American politician serving as a member of the Ohio Senate, representing the 12th district since 2017, and currently serving as the Ohio Senate Majority Leader as a Republican.
