12World, also known as W12, was a street gang located in Shepherd's Bush, London. History In 2017, members of 12World harassed the grandmother of 1011 member Micah Bedeau, also known as Horrid1 or Huncho; the incident resulted in him and other 1011 members planning a ride-out against 12World, which was stopped by their arrest in November the same year. In September 2017, an incident occurred between 12World members and rivals from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, resulting in a 16-year old being stabbed. 8 12World members were sentenced in 2018 for the attack. In 2018, Xeneral Imiuru (alias Xeneral Webster), also known as General and a member of 12World, was sentenced to 17 years in prison for the death of Joanne Rand, considered the first death from an acid attack in the UK. UK Drill
UK drill is a subgenre of drill music and road rap that originated in the South London district of Brixton from 2012 onwards. Initially borrowing heavily from the style of Chicago drill music before creating its own unique sound, UK drill artists often rap about violent and hedonistic criminal lifestyles. Typically, those who create this style of music are affiliated with gangs or come from socioeconomically-deprived neighbourhoods where crime is a way of life for many. UK drill music is closely related to road rap, a British style of gangsta rap that became popular in the years prior to the existence of drill. UK drill often exhibits violent language and provocative lyrics, resulting in the genre being cited as a reason for an increase in knife crime in London. CGM (an acronym for Cherish God More), is a British hip hop collective based in Ladbroke Grove, London. They were formerly known as 1011, named after the W10 and W11 postal codes. They are considered to be one of the pioneers of the UK drill scene. History In 2015, Digga D formed the UK drill group 1011 along with his friends in a local youth club in Ladbroke Grove. They released several singles from 2016-17 including: "Kill Confirmed", "Play for the Pagans", and "No Hook". The W (Western and Paddington) postcode area, also known as the London W postcode area is a group of postcode districts covering part of central and part of West London, England. The area originates from the Western (W1) and Paddington (W2-14) districts of the London postal district. This area covers 35 postcode districts and around 18,554 live postcodes. Shepherd's Bush is a district of West London, England, within the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham west of Charing Cross, and identified as a major metropolitan centre in the London Plan.
