10th Platino Awards
The 10th Platino Awards, presented by the Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales (EGEDA) and the Federación Iberoamericana de Productores Cinematográficos y Audiovisuales (FIPCA), took place on 22 April 2023 at IFEMA Palacio Municipal in Madrid, Spain, to recognize the best in Ibero-American film and television of 2022. The ceremony was hosted by actors Carolina Gaitán, Omar Chaparro and Paz Vega, and was broadcast by TNT and HBO Max to Latin America and RTVE to Spain. Background The location and date of the ceremony was announced in September 2022 with the host city being Madrid for the fifth time in the history of the awards, it is also the third consecutive time that the ceremony will take place at IFEMA Palacio Municipal. IFEMA Palacio Municipal
The IFEMA Palacio Municipal, formerly known as Palacio Municipal de Congresos, is a convention centre in Madrid, Spain. It is located near the IFEMA's main fairground complex in the Campo de las Naciones area. It is operated by IFEMA since 2019. History It is located in the Corralejos neighborhood, Barajas district. Designed by Ricardo Bofill, building works lasted from March 1991 to May 1993. The building was inaugurated on 19 October 1993. Since 1995, when the Goya Awards moved from the similarly named Palacio de Congresos in the Paseo de la Castellana, the venue has hosted several editions of the awards' ceremonies. On 15 December 1995, the venue hosted the EU summit that ratified the creation of the "euro" currency. The Beasts (2022 Film)
''The Beasts'' ( gl, As bestas) is a 2022 Spanish-French thriller film directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, who co-wrote the screenplay with Isabel Peña. It stars Denis Ménochet, Marina Foïs, Luis Zahera, and Diego Anido. A Spanish-French co-production, it was shot in Galician, French and Spanish. Inspired by real events involving a Dutch couple in Santoalla, the plot follows a French couple (Ménochet and Foïs) settled in the Galician countryside, exploring issues of xenophobia and escalating hostility between neighbors buoyed by a conflict vis-à-vis a wind farm project, arriving to a point of no return. Lucrecia Pérez Sáez is a Spanish-Cuban singer born in Havana who currently lives in Sitges (Barcelona). She was born in Santo Suarez neighborhood in Havana, and passed her childhood in Guanabacoa, a township within the province of La Habana.
