10th National Congress Of The Lao People's Revolutionary Party
The 10th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP, ) was held in Vientiane from 18–22 January 2016. The congress occurs once every five years. A total of 685 delegates represented the party's 252,879 card-carrying members. 10th CC plenary session The 1st Plenary Session of the 10th Central Committee elected the 10th Politburo and the 10th Secretariat. 11 people were elected to the Politburo, and nine to the Secretariat. ''Nhân Dân'' (; , , , ) is the official newspaper of the Communist Party of Vietnam. According to the newspaper, it is “the voice of the Party, the State and the people of Vietnam.” It has a daily circulation of 180,000 copies. Its weekend edition, ''Nhân Dân cuối tuần'' (Literal translation, lit: ''The People Weekend)'', has a circulation of 110,000 copies, and its monthly magazine has a circulation of 130,000 copies. Vientiane
Vientiane (, ) is the capital city, capital and largest city of Laos. Bounnhang Vorachith
Bounnhang Vorachit (; born 15 August 1937) is a Laotian politician. He was previously General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of Laos from 2016 to 2021. Early life Bounnhang Vorachit joined the Pathet Lao resistance movement in 1951 and worked in the propaganda department of the armed forces in Savannakhet. In 1956, he was transferred to the fighting troops. He studied in Vietnam from 1958 to 1961, then returned to Laos to help prepare for the conquest of Luang Namtha Province. After the victory in Luang Namtha in 1962, he returned to Vietnam and studied at a military college. In 1964, he returned to Laos and in 1969, became head of the organizing committee of the province Xieng Khuang. In 1972, he became Deputy Commander of the Northern Front in Luang Prabang Province. Phankham Viphavan
Phankham Viphavanh (; born 14 April 1951) is a Laotian politician, a member of the Politburo and the Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. He became the Prime Minister of Laos, who was elected by the National Assembly of Laos in March 2021. He was deputy minister in the prime minister's office from 2003 to 2005, then was elected to the eighth Party Central Committee in 2006, and became governor of Houaphanh province. Bounthong Chitmany (; born 3 July 1948) is a Laotian politician and member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP). He is a former Governor of Oudomxay Province. Asang Laoly (; born 2 February 1941) is a retired Lao politician, Major General, and member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP). While he was the Deputy Prime Minister of Laos from 2002 to 2016, he also held a number of leadership positions in both the government and in LPRP. Somsavat Lengsavad (; born 15 June 1945) is a former Deputy Prime Minister of Laos. An ethnic Chinese, Chinese name: 凌绪光 (Lin Xuguang), who hails from Luang Prabang with ancestry from Hainan, he was a protégé of Kaysone Phomvihane.
