10th Bangladesh National Film Awards
The 10th Bangladesh National Film Awards ( bn, জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার) were presented by the Ministry of Information, Bangladesh, to felicitate the best of Bangladeshi cinema released in the year 1985. The Bangladesh National Film Awards is a film award ceremony in Bangladesh established in 1975 by the government of Bangladesh. Every year, a national panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry, and the award ceremony is held in Dhaka. 1985 was the 10th ceremony of the Bangladesh National Film Award. List of winners A total of 14 artists were awarded in this ceremony. Best Film and Best Male Playback Singer awards were not given in 1985. Baby Islam
Anwarul Islam (known as Baby Islam; 1931 – 24 May 2010) was a Bangladeshi cinematographer and film director. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Cinematography for the film (1975). Early life and education Islam was born in 1931 in Murshidabad, West Bengal to Abdul Hossain Biswas and Motaharun Nessa. He went to a missionary school in Sealdah and moved to Cathedral Mission High School. He matriculated in 1945 before attending Bangabasi College, under the University of Calcutta. Career Islam started his career as the assistant of Bengali film director Ajoy Kar. In 1956, he joined as a senior photographer at the Information Department in Dhaka. He served as the general manager of Film Development Corporation (FDC). Sabina Yasmin
Sabina Yasmin (born 4 September 1953) is a Bangladeshi singer. She is best known as a playback singer in Bengali cinema. She has won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer a record 14 times. She has recorded more than 1,500 songs for films and over 10,000 songs in total.
