''#10'' is the eleventh studio album by the Canadian rock band The Guess Who. It was first released in 1973. The title comes from the fact that it was the band's tenth release for RCA Records. This number series includes both a live album and best-of compilation, but not the band's early recordings (prior to 1969) which were not recorded for RCA. Release history In addition to the usual 2 channel stereo version the album was also released by RCA in a 4 channel quadraphonic version on both LP and 8-track tape. The quad LP version was released using the Quadradisc system. The 2012 reissue by Iconoclassic marked the first time the album was made available on CD in the United States. It has upgraded sound quality compared to previous CD releases, and a previously unreleased, stripped-down mix of "Glamour Boy" without the sound effects and crowd noise. Dutton Vocalion specialises in re-issuing on CD music recorded between the 1920s and 1970s, and in issuing albums of modern digital recordings. ''RPM'' ( and later ) was a Canadian music-industry publication that featured song and album charts for Canada. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. ''RPM'' stood for "Records, Promotion, Music". The magazine's title varied over the years, including ''RPM Weekly'' and ''RPM Magazine''. Ron Halldorson (born 1943) is a Canadian jazz musician, arranger, and producer from Winnipeg, Manitoba, best known for his work with guitarist Lenny Breau. Beginning his career as a country musician in the 1950s, Halldorson switched to jazz in the 1960s and played bass in The Lenny Breau Trio, recording ''Guitar Sounds from Lenny Breau'' and '' The Velvet Touch of Lenny Breau – Live!'' on RCA and recording with John Capek in 1976. After playing double-bass with Breau for 10 years, Halldorson worked as a session musician, playing pedal steel guitar and other instruments on recordings by The Guess Who, Wyrd Sisters and others. Burton Cummings
Burton Lorne Cummings (born December 31, 1947) is a Canadian musician, singer, and songwriter. He is best known for leading The Guess Who during that band's most successful period from 1965 to 1975, and for a lengthy solo career. Cummings has been inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, and has been cited as one of the most influential performers in Canadian rock music. He has also been named as an officer of the Order of Canada and Order of Manitoba. The Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg is named in his honour. Career Early years Cummings was born and raised in Winnipeg by his mother and maternal grandparents, after his father left the family during his infancy. He attended St. John's High School but dropped out at age 17 to pursue a career in music; the school granted him an honorary diploma in 2010.
