Daniel Alexeyevich Sysoev (; 12 January 1974 – 20 November 2009) was a Russian Orthodox priest, rector of the Moscow Church of the Holy Apostle Thomas on Kantemirovskaya, and a prominent missionary. Sysoev was known for his active missionary work, including among Russia's Muslims, neo-Pagans, and Protestants. Sysoev was killed in his church in Moscow by a masked gunman on 19 November 2009. According to investigators, the killer was Beksultan Karybekov, born in 1987, a native of the city of Osh, Kyrgyzstan. Daniil Ivanovich Kharms (; – 2 February 1942) was a Russian avant-gardist and absurdist poet, writer and dramatist in the early Soviet era. Early years Kharms was born as Daniil Yuvachev in Saint Petersburg, then the capital of the Russian Empire, into the family of Ivan Yuvachev, a member of the revolutionary group '' Narodnaya Volya''. By the time of his son's birth, Ivan Yuvachev had already been imprisoned for his involvement in subversive acts against Tsar Alexander III and had become a philosopher. Life and career Granin started writing in the 1930s, while he was still an engineering student at the Leningrad Polytechnical Institute. After graduation, Granin began working as a senior engineer at an energy laboratory, and shortly after Second World War, war broke out, he volunteered to fight as a soldier. Biography Early years Daniil Shafran was born in Petrograd (later Leningrad, then Saint Petersburg) in 1923 to a Jewish family. Even from before his birth he was surrounded by music. His mother and father were music students when he was born. His father, Boris Shafran, went on to be principal cellist of the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra and his mother, Frida Moiseyevna, was a pianist. Daniil Markovich Gleikhengauz (or Gleichenhaus; , born 3 June 1991) is a Russian former ice dancer and single skater. In single skating, he is the 2007 Russian junior national bronze medalist and competed at the 2007 World Junior Championships, placing 19th. He was coached by Viktor Kudriavtsev.
