ʻĀina Haina
Āina Haina is an unincorporated town of the City & County of Honolulu in the state of Hawaii of the United States. Located on the island of Oahu, Āina Haina is a residential community developed around Kalanianaole Highway east of Waikīkī and Diamond Head. Āina Haina was named after local dairyman and owner of Hind-Clarke Dairy, Robert Hind. Āina Haina in the Hawaiian language means "Hind's Land". A main street is a loop named Hind Drive for him. Āina Haina has two elementary schools (Aina Haina Elementary School and Holy Nativity School) and a shopping center. In the 2000 U.S. Census the U.S. Census Bureau defined the area as being in the urban Honolulu census-designated place. Hawaii State Public Library System
The Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS) is the only statewide public library system in the United States. The system has 51 libraries on all the major Hawaiian Islands: Big Island of Hawaii, Kauai, Lānai, Maui, Molokai and Oahu. The system's collection of books and other library materials totals over three million. There is one library for the blind and physically handicapped, located on Oahu. ''Hawaii News Now'' (also abbreviated as ''HNN'') is a news department shared by three television stations in Honolulu, Hawaii: CBS affiliate KGMB (channel 5), NBC affiliate KHNL (channel 13), and Telemundo affiliate KFVE (channel 6). Honolulu Waldorf School
Honolulu Waldorf School, established in 1961, is a coeducational, independent school serving more than 300 children from early childhood through middle school located on the island of Oahu in the State of Hawaii. It previously included high school levels. History The original Nursery through Grade 8 school was founded in 1961 and is located in Niu Valley. The high school began in 1994 with its first freshmen class and graduated its first class of seniors in 1998. As of May, 2009 the high school campus was located in the Honolulu suburb of Kahala. The Hawaii State Department of Education (HIDOE) is a statewide public education system in the United States. Hawaiian (', ) is a Polynesian language of the Austronesian language family that takes its name from Hawaii, the largest island in the tropical North Pacific archipelago where it developed. Honolulu County (officially known as the City and County of Honolulu, formerly Oahu County) is a consolidated city–county in the U.S. state of Hawaii.
