picture info	Ștefan Emilian Ștefan Emilian (August 8, 1819 – November 1899) was an Imperial Austrian-born Romanian mathematician and architect. Born in Bonchida, Kolozs County (now Bonțida, Cluj County), in the Principality of Transylvania, he was given the surname ''Kertész'' as a child, although his birth name was ''Emilian''. He attended high school in Sibiu. Then, from 1841 to 1845, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, graduating with an architect's degree. Additionally, from 1841 to 1843, he took courses at the Vienna Polytechnic Institute. Emilian returned home shortly before 1848, in time for the Transylvanian Revolution. Pursued by the authorities, he sought refuge in Wallachia. By 1850, he was back in Transylvania, where he taught mathematics at Brașov's Greek Orthodox High School. picture info	Misu Popp - Stefan Emilian ''Misu'' () is a beverage made from the traditional Korean grain powder ''misu-garu'' (; ''misutgaru''; "''misu'' powder"), which is a combination of 7–10 different grains. It is usually served on hot summer days to quench thirst or as an instant nutritious drink for breakfast or as a healthy snack. In a Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897) recipe book, misu was mentioned as stir-fried barley (''gu''). Gu was a delicacy of that time and easy to serve as one went to travel. Misu is made of glutinous rice and other ingredients, such as barley, yulmu (''Coix lacryma-jobi'' var. 	Academia Mihăileană Academia Mihăileană was an institution of higher learning based in Iași, Moldavia, and active in the first part of the 19th century. Like other Eastern European institutions of its kind, it was both a high school and a higher learning institute, housing several faculties. Academia Mihăileană was the predecessor of the Iași National College and the University of Iași. History Academia Mihăileană's founder is intellectual Gheorghe Asachi, who obtained the permission and support of the ruling Prince Mihail Sturdza. It derived its ''Mihăileană'' name from the monarch's first name (literally: "Michaelian Academy"). Sturdza issued the official decision which authorized the founding of the Academy in 1834. Because the institution was not assigned a building of its own, courses began at the Vasilian Gymnasium, a school founded by the same Asachi in 1828.
