''Život uživo'' ( en, Life in person) is the debut studio album by Bosnian pop star Maya Berović. It was released August 2007 through the record label Grand Production in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. Background Aged 19 in 2006, Maya signed with the Belgrade-based record label Grand Production, co-owned by Lepa Brena and Saša Popović, and teamed up with ''Grand's'' main songwriter Marina Tucaković and composer and musician Aleksandar Milić as the producer. Not long after the album's release, Berović parted ways with Grand Production. Maya Berović
Maja "Maya" Berović (; born 8 July 1987) is a Bosnian- Serbian singer. Born in Ilijaš, she debuted in 2007 with the album '' Život uživo'', featuring her first hit "Džin i limunada". It was followed by '' Crno zlato'' (2008) and ''Maya'' (2011), which included stand-out tracks "Crno zlato" and "Djevojačko prezime". '' Djevojka sa juga'' (2012) and '' Opasne vode'' (2014) were than released to more significant success in Serbia than her previous projects. Berović gained more regional popularity by collaborating with rappers Jala Brat and Buba Corelli on her subsequent albums '' Viktorijina tajna'' (2017) and '' 7'' (2018), which spawned hits like "To me radi" and "Pravo vreme". Turbo-folk
Turbo-folk (sometimes referred as pop-folk or popular folk) is subgenre of contemporary pop music with its origins in Serbia, that initially developed during the 1980s and 1990s, with similar music styles in Bulgaria (chalga), Romania (manele) and Albania (tallava). It is a fusion genre of popular music, blending Serbian folk music with other genres: such as pop, rock, electronic and some hip-hop. Background and characteristics Turbo-folk music emerged as a subculture in the countryside during the 1970s before migrating to the city in the '80s and eventually reaching further expansion in the '90s during the rule of Slobodan Milošević, Yugoslav Wars, inflation and political isolation. Grand Production ( sr, Гранд продукција) is a Serbian record label and production company predominantly focused on folk performers. The label produces the weekly television show ''Grand Parada'', launched their own cable television channel, and organize a competitive festival of pop-folk and turbo-folk music, Grand Festival. TV shows Since its founding in 1998, the label has produced the weekly television variety show ''Grand Parada'' (or Zvezda Granda), to serve as a showcase for Grand Production's artists. It aired on the Serbian network Pink TV until 2014, when Grand launched their own cable channel, Grand TV, through a contract with United Group. Fahreta Živojinović (; ; born 20 October 1960), known by her stage name Lepa Brena (), is a folk singer, actress, and businesswoman. She is the best-selling female recording artist from the former Yugoslavia. Lepa Brena grew up in Brčko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and has lived in Belgrade, Serbia since 1980, where she started her career. Lepa Brena is considered to be a symbol of the former Yugoslavia, due to the fact that she was one of the last popular acts to emerge before the breakup of the country. Marina Tucaković
Marina Tucaković ( sr-Cyrl, Марина Туцаковић; 4 November 1953 – 19 September 2021) was a Serbian lyricist and songwriter. Born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, Tucaković had a degree from the Economic Faculty at the University of Belgrade. She first started writing songs at the age of 19. After the success of "Dodirni mi kolena" by the Yugoslav rock group Zana and vocalist Zana Nimani, Tucaković continued working with numerous artists in then Yugoslavia. Before she oriented towards folk music, she collaborated with Yugoslav pop, rock and new wave artists such as Oliver Mandić, Zana, Slađana Milošević and Oliver Dragojević.
