Ženski košarkaški klub Art Basket ( sr-cyr, Женски кошаркашки клуб Арт Баскет), commonly referred to as ŽKK Art Basket, is a women's professional basketball club based in Belgrade, Serbia. History The club was founded in 2009 in Belgrade at the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School by Ana Mrkić, a basketball coach and former player from Šabac. She started Art Basket as a youth system academy with the desire to be a farm team for Crvena zvezda. After years of working with girls, the club formed a senior basketball team in 2017. At that point a cooperation with men's club Mega Basket was established. In March 2021, the club won its first title, the National Cup. First Women's Basketball League Of Serbia
The First Women's Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Прва женска лига Србије, Prva ženska liga Srbije; abbr. ПЖЛС or PŽLS), is a top-tier women's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). The league is divided into two parts. The first part of the play all the clubs who have won a place in it. In the second part, called the playoffs, they play eight first clubs from the first division. Play starts from the quarter-final of the series, where the winner is decided in two games, the same system is in the semifinals, while the final series game in three wins. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop.
