Suica
is a prepaid rechargeable contactless smart card, electronic money used as a fare card on train lines in Japan, launched on November 18, 2001. The card can be used interchangeably with JR West's ICOCA in the Kansai region and San'yō region in Okayama, Hiroshima, and Yamaguchi prefectures, and also with JR Central's TOICA, JR Kyushu's SUGOCA, Nishitetsu's Nimoca, and Fukuoka City Subway's Hayakaken area in Fukuoka City and its suburb areas. The card is also increasingly being accepted as a form of electronic money for purchases at stores and kiosks, especially within train stations. As of 2018, JR East reports 69.4 million Suica UID's have been issued, usable at 476,300 point of sale locations, with 6.6 million daily transactions. Dubravka Šuica
Dubravka Šuica (; born 20 May 1957) is a Croatian politician of the liberal Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) who has been Vice-President of the European Commission for Democracy and Demography since 2019. She previously served as a member of the European Parliament from 2013 to 2019. She served two consecutive terms as mayor of Dubrovnik between 2001 and 2009. She was the first female mayor of Dubrovnik and one of the first female mayors of major Croatian cities in modern Croatia. She served as a member of the Croatian Parliament in three terms from 2001 to 2011. Since 2004, she has been elected five times in a row as Vice-President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. Name Šujica was first mentioned in written records between 1197 and 1202 as ''Sůz'', and later in 1267 as ''in Scheuz'' and in 1354 as ''in der Schewez''. It is also known locally and in older written sources as ''Švica''. It shares its name with Šujica Creek, a left tributary of the Gradaščica River. The name of the settlement is based on the hydronym and is derived from the Slovene word ''šuj'' 'left' (cf. ''šujica'' 'left hand'), and therefore means 'left tributary (of the Gradaščica)'. Šuica (river)
The Šuica ( cyrl, Шуица) which is known as the Šujica (Шујица), is a sinking river flowing through Duvanjsko Polje and the wider region of Tropolje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The river also runs through its subterranean section, which begins at the point where river goes underground within the main estavelle (ponor) at Kovači. This section of the Šuica is traversable for trained speleologists with proper equipment. Its sources are Mali Stržanj and Veliki Stržanj, both close to village of Stržanj. It flows through and drains most of its waters from Kupreško Polje, the Šuica Valley and Duvanjsko Polje. The river disappears underground in large Kovači estavelle, eponymous of nearby village Kovači, in southwestern corner of Duvanjsko Polje. Waters of the Šuica than partially re-emerges at the source of Ričina in village Prisoje, which than empties into the reservoir of Buško Blato after a short flow of cca 0–50 meters, depending on the water level ...
