Miroslav Štěpánek (2 December 1923 – 28 November 2005) was a Czech artist, director, screenwriter, set designer, illustrator, graphic designer, animator, and sculptor. He was known for his contributions to Czech animated film and Czech, British and Japanese puppet film, cartoon animation and theatre during the 20th century. Early life and education Štěpánek was born in Libčice nad Vltavou. He graduated at the Grammar school of Antonín Dvořák in Kralupy nad Vltavou. In 1950 he graduated from DAMU, department of theatre design in Prague. He studied also under the painter and graphic artist František Tichý. He studied at the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague, department of Art History, but did not graduate. Zdeněk Štěpánek (22 September 1896 – 20 June 1968) was a Czech actor. He appeared in 65 films between 1922 and 1968. Life In 1915 Zdeněk Štěpánek joined Austro-Hungarian Army and fought at the Eastern Front. He later switched sides and joined Czechoslovak Legion, in which he participated in the Russian Civil War. He was evacuated through Vladivostok and he returned to Czechoslovakia in 1920. From 1934 he was front-actor of the National Theatre in Prague. Vratislav Štěpánek (18 June 1930, Vrútky – 21 July 2013, Šlapanice) was a clergyman, a bishop, and for a period from 1991 to 1994 the fifth patriarch of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. In 1989, he had been assigned as Bishop of the Brno diocese of the church, a position that he kept ten years until 1999. On 16 March 1991, he was also elected to the office of patriarch for three years until 1994, therefore, holding both offices in parallel during that period. Svatoslav Štěpánek
Svatoslav Štěpánek (25 December 1911 – 8 November 1938), known as The Roudnice Monster, was a Czechoslovak serial killer who killed at least one child and two women around Roudnice nad Labem between 1926 and 1936. Convicted of these crimes and two attempted murders, he was sentenced to death and subsequently executed in 1938. Early years Svatoslav Štěpánek was born on 25 December 1911, in Roudnice nad Labem, the youngest of four children. He came from a respected family – his father was a chemist in a sugar factory and his mother a retired kindergarten teacher. Radek Štěpánek (; born 27 November 1978) is a Czech former professional tennis player. His career-high singles ranking was world No. 8 and best doubles ranking was world No. 4.
