Şamlar is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Başakşehir, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 1,267 (2022). It is situated in the European portion of Turkey, so called Rumeli Rumelia (; ; ) was a historical region in Southeastern Europe that was administered by the Ottoman Empire, roughly corresponding to the Balkans. Rumelia (; ; ) was a historical region in Southeastern Europe that was administered by the Ottoman Empire, roughly corresponding to the Balkans. Sazlıdere Dam
Sazlıdere Dam is a reservoir dam in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. The dam supplies the European side of the city and its suburbs with drinking water. The Turkish State Hydraulic Works backed the development of the dam, which was constructed between 1992 and 1996. The reservoir supplies 50 hm³ of drinking water annually.
