Şaban Erden
Şaban Erden who was born in Kırklareli in 1949, is the Deputy Secretary General of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. After the high school education at Kabataş Erkek Lisesi ''(Kabataş Erkek Lisesi)'', he graduated from the Civil Engineering Faculty of Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) in 1972 with a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He worked at the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement at Bandırma District Directorate as a Control Engineer during the construction of Bandirma Harbour. He completed his military service in 1974 and 1975. Afterwards, he worked for Azot Sanayii A.Ş., TÜGSAŞ A.Ş., Türkiye Milk Industry Company (SEK) and for the Prime Ministry Housing Development Administration (TOKİ). Kırklareli
Kırklareli () is a city within Kırklareli Province in the East Thrace, European part of Turkey. Name It is not clearly known when the city was founded, nor under what name. The Byzantine Greeks called it Sarànta Ekklisiès (''Σαράντα Εκκλησιές'', meaning ''forty churches''). In Greek language, modern Greek it is known with the same name, too. In the 14th century this was translated to Turkish language, Turkish and called "''Kırk Kilise''". Following the establishment of the Turkish Republic in 1923, sanjaks became cities and on December 20, 1924, Kırk Kilise's name was changed to ''Kırklareli'', meaning ''The Place of the Forties''. The denomination ''Kırklareli'' was already used years before 1924, for example in the contemporary literature concerning the Balkan Wars of 1912–13. Kadir Topbaş
Kadir Topbaş (8 January 1945 – 13 February 2021) was a Turkish architect, businessperson and politician who served as Mayor of Istanbul from 2004 to 2017. Biography He was born on 8 January 1945 in Altıparmak village of Yusufeli district in Artvin Province. Kadir Topbaş moved to Istanbul in 1946 with his family. He earned a PhD in architectural history from Istanbul University following his education of theology at Marmara University in 1972 and architecture at Mimar Sinan University in 1974. After working as preacher in Edirne, teacher and freelance architect in İstanbul, he served between 1994 and 1998 as advisor to then-mayor of Istanbul Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the restoration and decoration of palaces and other historical buildings in Istanbul.
